We got a good deal from AAA on a Woods View at the WL, since no AP rate ever came out for our dates. (Our 1st time at WL )
What are the woods view room like??
Is there anything special we should do/look for while we are there??
Wood rooms face the woods ( sorry I couldn't resist) anyway we love wl. It is a romantic, stunning resort. One of the best themed resorts on site. Lobby has a serious "wow" factor. The rooms are very nice and have recently been upgraded. New furniture, rugs and flat panel tv's.
You can ask about being flag family and there is also a lodge tour, that gives you some history on the lodge and it's decor. If you have kids there is a great arcade and when we were there in August, the CM's organized pool games every day.
Woods View rooms face the trees between WL and CR in the North Wing and face the Villas in the South Wing, IIRC. I'd recommend asking for the room in the North Wing overlooking the Otter Pond.
Do you mind sharing the details of the deal you got through AAA? We are going back to WL next year and I am thinking of joining AAA, since I think there probably won't be any regular discounts for June.

Standard view at WL during value season is $215, Woodsview during value season is $240, so AAA rate would be 15% off of $240, which is $204/night not including taxes.

We stayed woods-view once and it was at the end of the "horseshoe" overlooking the lake and the boat dock. We could see the EWP from our balcony, and if we leaned a bit we could see the high MK fireworks. We were also overlooking the geyser.
Our room faced the service area but was on the sixth floor so we were able to watch the fireworks at MK every night at 10 from our balcony. It was awesome. We never heard anything as far as noise from the service area but I am not sure that would be the case if you were down lower. Being on the 6th floor was great however.
