hey there. anyone walked the trail between wilderness lodge and the fort wilderness campground? if so, what's it like? nice walk? how long does it take? i'm interested in any thought you might have. thanks in advance! ::MickeyMo

It's a nice paved and wooded trail, about a mile long. If you are lucky you may see some deer in the woods. It is not lighted so I wouldn't do it at night. At night you can take the small boat, large boat, or bus.

There are actually two paths - a "beach" path that snugs the beach most of the way and goes past the old River Country; you then use the old FW/RC path. It's nice and wooded, though at times a little sandy. They may, however, be letting this path overgrow since River Country is no more.

The other path is a nice wooded path past VWL which after about 1/4 or 1/3 of a mile merges into a larger paved path that runs next to the "back road " that runs directly from the front gate to the small petting farm and Pioneer Hall.

They're both great walks but definitely hard to do when it gets dark!
