Not sure, but I know they are going to institute the new locks and keys at every resort on property. I think I read it would be complete by the end of next year. I'll see if I can figure out where I read that, and if I find it, I come back with a link.:goodvibes

This is also what is on the Disney Fantasy and Dream. Liked not having to take my KTTW card out to get into my stateroom. Glad they're coming to all the resorts.

It takes an awfully long to time to take on this type of project. It is not just like stringing wiring through the resort to get wifi.

To go wireless for security, you have to survey the buildings extensively to make sure there isn't one dead spot where a door could release accidently (security doors, with the exception of correctional facilities, "fail open"). Then you have to run massive amounts of wiring.

There's also no telling what order they are going to do the buildings in, how many they will tackle at once, what areas to do first. You have to realize the logistics of a project like this is overwhelming.

No doubt Disney leaves nothing to chance and they have a plan put together; everyone will just have to wait and see how they roll. Other than the ability to find a building permit for the work as the buildings progress, Disney releases information when they are ready.

Just curious if there was a timeline on it since we will be there in October. BW has it so DH is wanting to possibly switch to it since they have the new room keys, though I am not worried about that part as much.
