Wilderness Lodge resort & concierge review **PICS ADDED on Page 2!**

Terry

WOW...I love the photo's of the new lounge area “The Old Faithful Club Room” is beautiful, I just love the new carpet, Plasma Flat Screen TV and new furniture. Would you mind posting the photo's over on the FAQ Thread so we will have a record of this wonderful addition.

Thanks Beckie

Seaspray: I read here before you left that you were a bit worried about the bed-size of the bunks and whether your DSs would be comfortable. How did they like the bunks? and I was also wondering if one of them slept on the day bed at the Poly? I plan on having one of the kids use the day bed and I was wondering if it was equivalent to a twin or not.

My DSs are 17 and 14 and are big kids, and I guess they fit fine, but not very comfortably. They were comfortable while lying down and sleeping, but DS17 had the bottom bunk and he could not sit on the edge of the bed, or sit up in bed because the top bunk was too low to the bottom bunk, so he pretty much had to crawl into bed. lol DS14 was on the top and he did OK. We were only at the WL for 2 nights, so it wasn't too bad. Once we got to the Polynesian we had a lot more room to spread out in. DS17 slept in the other queen bed, and DS14 slept in the daybed with room to spare. It looked to me like the day bed was a regular twin sized bed.

DSs didn't really mind the bunk beds at WL, but they were happier with the sleeping arrangements at the Polynesian.

Thanks so much for the posts and pictures, we are staying in a HM suite in Dec and I believe it is on the same floor as that lounge/new area...does anyone know if I am right? Is that the 7th floor?

Terry - how did your boys like sleeping in the bunk beds?

After a few reviews about bad behavior of the concierge guests, I wondered if you saw any of that during your trip. ANy people taking all the food, lounging in thier pj's, being slobs?

I am thinking about trying a night or 2 in concierge in December.

laura: I am pretty sure the honeymoon suites are on the 7th floor, but I am not 100% sure!

karel: Here's what I wrote on the last page about the boys sleeping in the bunkbeds: My DSs are 17 and 14 and are big kids, and I guess they fit fine, but not very comfortably. AJKMOM: I did not see anyone behaving like that at either of the concierge lounges. People were very civilized! :earboy2:

Yes you are correct WL has 4 HMS all located on the 7th floor, they are beautiful.

I have really enjoyed reading this thread! And, SeaSpray, the pictures are GREAT! :cool1:

I am looking forward to our trip in May even more after seeing all of these pictures. We have never stayed at the Wilderness Lodge, it looks so wonderful!

Hi everyone! :wave2:

Thanks SO MUCH to all of you for your kinds words! I really appreciate them :) I am leaving in a few minutes to go to the Jersey Shore for a week. :sunny: WOO HOO!

Anyway, I will be bringing my laptop and able to get online from there, but not as much as if I were home, so if I don't answer a question right away, I will, once I get online.

Bye for now! :flower:

Thank you, thank you! I am planning on a quick trip in early december to experience Disney at Xmas and I am dying to try WL! I'll show DH these pics and am sure he'll concede.

We were booked for one night at WL last Sept for my DD's 7th bday(we're in Tampa now so we do short trips) but I switched to POFQ and was soooo disappointed! (Had horrible mousekeeping) I am so ready to go to WL!

Going to CSR this weekend to meet up w/ BIL from Canada- and we liked this mod for the pool and Pepper's Market. (I know there is mixed feelings there but we're very picky and this suited us fine when we met up w/ Dh's cousins who were staying there last Nov-we stayed then at POP)

I'm doing my happy dance for going to Disney tomorrow. We're going to seaworld and possibly a waterpark; I can't take the heat too long so MK is out and I reallly want to share Seaworld w/ my daughters. So CSR here we come!

I'm new to WDW....going to WL in Sept: Whats the difference between WL Concierge and WL?? We are staying at the WL in a Woods View Room.
:earsboy:

We checked in to the WL on Monday AM (7/11) and the CL said they had just opened the new lounge either that day or the day b-4, sorry I can't recall exactly. We had a wonderful stay and did NOT want to to leave!! This was by far the single most relaxing vacation ever. We even had tickets for the park, but enjoyed the "laid-backness" of the WL so much that we did not even go to MK. I had our "schedule" all planned out, but after spending our first day at WL, we threw those plans out the window and simply enjoyed doing nothing. So, that left us with no dinner plans for the night we were to be at MK, but after a quick trip to the wonderful host at the CL desk, viola! DH came right back with PS for dinner. I don't know how we could possibly ever stay anywhere else again. We have been tainted. I now get it why guests never go back to anything other than CL. Daisy, Jeff and Mike were awesome hosts. We are already thinking about saving up for next summer and *gasp* not including the parks!! :flower: Have a magical day!! :wizard:

Concierge on the 7th floor (only reached by inserting your room key into the slot in the elevator) includes sodas, snacks, lite breakfast, wine & cheese, desserts & cordials and turn down service. If the CL is not in your budget, you will still be VERY pleased with WL. It is now our FAVORITE resort! ;) You will LOVE it!

What wonderful pictures! Our first trip to the WL is in August, and these pictures just confirmed that I made the right choice! Thanks for sharing them.

:sunny: This was the exact room we were in, in Sept. Boy do I long for it now!!! Can't wait to see the new digs in person, I can't picture where the tv and couches are! I must be having a mind lapse!! :confused3

Thanks for the pictures!!
