My husband & I will be taking our 2 year old to WDW in November. The Wilderness Resort is more our style, but I am wondering if the boat launch to MK and the Contemporary (planning a Chef Mickey's breakfast) is really a hassle? I am only considering the Contemporary because of the monorail. I would love to hear from those who tried out the boats from the Wilderness Resort. How long was the average wait? Is the schedule sporatic? Is the ride long? Or, would the Contemporay just be easier logistically? Thanks in advance for your assistance!

Hello and welcome to the Disboards!

This particular post would gather more responses if you posted it in the Disney Resorts Forum. This forum is primarily for off-site hotels, restaurants and attractions.

That being said, I can give you some info. We stayed at the WL in 2000. If I remember correctly, there is boat transportation only to the Magic Kingdom and to Fort Wilderness. You'd have to take a bus to the Transportation and Ticket Center and then catch a monorail to the Contemporary. The boat transportation to the MK and FW was reliable at the time of our visit. We took the boat to both and were very satisfied. We didn't use bus transportation to the rest of WDW because we had our car with us.

I'm sure others on the Disney Resorts forum can give you more detailed information.

Enjoy your trip.

It is kinda ironic that you posted this question. Last year we stayed three days at the Contemporary and Three Days at the Wilderness Lodge.

I LOVED the Wilderness Lodge boat. IT was wonderful. We watched the Wishes fireworks and walked out and boarded the boat. It was so wonderful and peaceful. It was a short trip. As far as the schedule of the boat trips I really dont know but I can tell you I never waited long for a boat.

When we were at the Contemporary we did not take boat we always jumped on the Monorail.

I hope that it helps.

hassle no - the same boat that goes to FW also goes to the Cont

however you can walk to the MK from the Cont - in the morning - a big deal - the monrail has to stop at the t/t, poly and GF before it gets to the MK - you can walk over to the MK in much less time than this - going back from the MK you are the first stop - so the monrail makes much more sense then (besides you will be unbelieveable tired)
