Which resort would you choose for an adult only trip & why? I've never stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge before, but have stayed at the Wilderness Lodge. Let's hear the good, the bad & the ugly.

Thanks!

I think they are both lovely, but I prefer AKL because it is a little more exotic.

These are two of my favorites you have gave me a very hard poll to make a choice on. We just love both of these resorts. I voted for AKL because of the Savanna view. I hope, that if you stay there you will book this view. We just love standing on the balcony and watching the animals. I have been told the pool view is good also. There are several viewing areas around the hotel. Bomas is a must do at this resort. The restaurant is hard to get a ADR at so make sure you make one. Even the gift shop is Unique. Not the normal Disney "stuff".

Some complain about the bus service, we have not found this to be a problem.
Since you have stayed at Wl, I will not go into what I love about it.:thumbsup2

If you have already stayed at WL, then try AKL. I would prefer this resort as adults only stay even if you haven't been to either. More time to relax, bigger pool, views of the animals, Jiko, Boma are good restaurants to try with no kids in tow and the rooms seem nicer to me

We have stayed at both and prefer WL .. b/c being closer to MK... and the boat ride to MK.. It seems that AKL is further away from everything we go to more often..

AKL hands down but go to Artist Pointe at WL for dinner one evening. Jiko at AKL is my favorite restaurant and Boma, the buffet, comes second. The bar/lounge is nice too. I would love to go to AKL for several days and never go to a park - lots to see and do there.

This is tough - these are my 2 favorite resorts. I voted for AKL because I love sitting on the balcony, having a glass of wine and watching the animals. We are planning on staying at WL in Jan but I may just have to switch over to AKL.

Both are great resorts, but for an adults only trip I would select AKL. Even though both resorts are family oriented, I think AKL is a little less family oriented. As one poster stated, there so much to see and do there that you wouldn't even miss the parks for the first few days. ;)

How is the bus service at the AKL? Is it fast? Do you feel like you are far away from everything at this resort? How long is the bus ride to the MK, EPCOT & MGM? How is the service there from the CM's? How loud is it with a pool view room? Are there less good view rooms for regular guests compared with rooms available to DVC members? How noisy is it with the construction of the new DVC?

How is the bus service at the WL lately? Is it still a quick ride to the MK & Contemporary? Is the construction complete there? Have the rooms been rehabed like at the other deluxe resorts? Is this complete yet?
