Wilderness lodge of Animal Kingdom Lodge?

Hi, For are one year anniversary we would like to stay at one of the two resorts. We are just not sure which one. Which one do you perfer this is for May of 2004 hopping for discounts. I would like to know which has the better food and rooms. Thanks Kelly

We have stayed at both more then once so I think I can help you. AKL is an amazaing resort, what other resort can you go to and see wild animals roming around the hotel grounds. The food there suburb. I think if you can afford Savanah view(doubt that is spelled right) I would deffinetly do it. WL is nice and is in great locations also. They were designed by the same architect. The food is great at AKL, it has wonderful food courct and Boma a great buffet. WL has whispering canyon and roaring forks, roaring forks is like a small scale food courct. I think roaring forks is to small IMHO. There is Jiko(AKL) and Artist Point(WL), those are more up scale. Either one you pick I am sure you will love it. My vote would be AKL but thats just my opinion. If you have questions, just feel free to pm or email me.

I just faced this same decision ... LOL! We are being given a bit of extra $ for our honeymoon so we are still deciding between adding a few days at a deluxe or upgrading to a suite at CSR.

Anyway, if we do go with a deluxe we are going to stay at AKL. The WL is beautiful but realistically, you can get similar architecture, atmosphere (minus the disney magic of course) and "down home" cooking in many US areas. AKL is a completely unique experience and the food is supposed to be superb!

we have stayed at both...i would pick AKL.. my 12 year DD loved the animals...they are every where... the pool in my opinion is better and the mara is nice also... we live in PA... so the WL was not the unique to me... i see pine trees and forests everyday... i would choose depending what thyme you would like better...thanks..amy
