Wilderness Lodge - Fave Room #s, Views & 5th fl balcony vs 6th fl balcony

I just checked my reservation. We were booked with Nature View. Maybe getting a fireworks room was a bit of pixie dust?

Was your stay this year? It’s a new room category. If so, yes, you got pixie dusted.

Im hoping some of the upper floor rooms still are Nature View! Its a pretty big price increase, I looked to see if maybe we could splurge, but youre adding a whole lot of money per night for that view. I dont feel its worth it unless you have the money to spend comfortably.

They were renovating 5th floor Nature View rooms (facing fireworks) the week they closed.

How do I know this. We stayed in 4th floor Nature view room and were nonplussed by the incessant hammering and zzzzzzzzz-ing throughout the day.

So much so, that we complained and received discount off room. Management claimed it was “emergency” work.

Now, perhaps they are continuing (or completing) this work during the shutdown, but something to keep in mind.

Lol this is exciting to hear! I hope they are able to finish the renovations by September when we visit. I have a whole other post going about these renovations, and literally just asked a question on a blog about whether they think the rooms will be done by September or not I wonder if theyre still working through the shut down?

Yes, our stay was Feb 2020. At the time the refurb was being done with on the 6th/7th floor rooms above us. I guess we got lucky

Now I’ll be on the look out to see when they change their photos on the Disney website for the rooms!

Even though I know I shouldn’t spend the money unnecessarily, I was kinda hoping Disney would have a promotion, and I could maybe jump on getting the fireworks view room for around the price I booked the Nature view room (rack rate). Do the hotel availabilities change a lot? I just noticed now Wilderness lodge has NO rooms available for my travel dates I was kinda stalking that room type bc that and Club level were the only room types left. Now nuthin. Did anyone else notice that on TripAdvisor.com, the Wilderness Lodge’s reopen date has been updated to 7/30/2020?
