Hi

We are going to the World in June and we are doing a split stay between Beach Club Villas and Villas at Wilderness Lodge.

As it is our first stay at both I was hoping you all could give me some information about both resorts and help me out with some questions.

What other resorts/hotels are Wilderness Lodge Villas near?

What are the CS options at each resort like?

Any information and pictures would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Andrea

Both resorts are fantastic...I'm sure you will have a wonderful time.

VWL has a CS that it shares with the Wilderness Lodge. I think it's pretty good, but the seating area is pretty small. It has cheeseburgers, fries, chicken strips...typical CS stuff. It is right near the pool, so that's pretty nice.

Although I love BCV, I think their CS options are lacking. They have a grab and go area in their "marketplace" gift shop. Out by the pool, they have Hurricane Hannahs. Hurricane Hannahs is probably one of my favorite CS type places. It's a little poolside/cabana type CS with typical things like burgers and fries (not a great option if the weather isn't nice).

Hope this helps a little...and ENJOY! :flower3:

Although you really can't walk to them, the Contemporary and Polynesian are close by. There is a walking path to Fort Wilderness Campground. There is a also boat that runs to the Contemporary and Fort Wilderness.

I think CS means counter service restaurants??
If so, Roaring Forks is a fantastic place IMO. They have great burgers, sandwiches, pizza, and a bunch of other stuff. :smokin:

I'm not sure when the last time you've visited, but a year or two back they remodeled Roaring Fork and added a bunch of seating in the adjacent room. :smokin:

What to they have in the grab and go section?

Thanks

Gotta love the CS at Wilderness Lodge! Roaring Forks had by far the best choices and plenty of seating, especially if you combine both the indoor and outdoor tables. In addition to the pizza, burgers, and chicken fingers they had some awesome sandwiches (one was roast beef & i think, blue cheese) and a couple of salads.

Our last trip we stayed at OKW (counter service there is blah...with very limited seating) and we went over to Roaring Forks 3 times.

All this talk about Roaring Fork is making me homesick. Only 22 days, 20 hours and 45 seconds to go to VWL, but who's counting?

Sorry, but I really did have to give it a plug. Both DH and I were impressed and will probably try staying there next time around.

There is a nice walking path you can take from the WL to FW. There is also the boat and bus that will go there. You can also ride a surrey bike along that path. There is also a boat that will take you to the CR. We had a great time riding the surrey bike to FW and then taking the bus over there for the campfire with chip and dale. We really liked the food at Roaring Forks and it is very convenient to the pool but a little far from the villas. The WL was such a great resort we loved it.

Gotta agree with above posters.......Roaring Forks is a very good cs choice. The sandwiches are awesome.....I had a turkey with brie and an herb mayo on a really fresh multigrain bread when we were there last January....and I can't wait to get there in 42 days to have another one!!!

Thanks for the replies everyone.

Can anyone tell me how far the villas are from the actual lodge?

And is there just one bus stop that serves the lodge and the villas?

The villas are 15ft at most from the main lodge. You exit from the main lodge and go under a covered walkway and your at the villas.

VWL and WL share a bus stop. It is in front of the villas building.

YIPPPPPPPEEEEEEE

Just what I wanted to hear!

When we visited Wilderness lodge we loved it so much and I am so excited to go there.

We are staying there for the last part of our trip but now I really want it to be the first part!

There is a WL/VWL resort map here. Here are the locations of the things you asked about plus a few others:

1. The bus stop

24. The VWL building

22. The villas pool

13. The WL pool

16. The walkway/dock to the boat transportation to the MK, FW, CR

I have pictures of both resorts. You can see them by clicking this link:

Then, click on the resort to see pictures. I timeshare so, I have pictures of other resorts that I have visited as well. I have to warn you I take pictures of everything (well almost... I always miss something so, I have to go back to take a picture of it).

Enjoy..
