Hello everyone!

I have a question re: the cabins.

We are not going again until Oct 2004 (God willing).

Do they have codes for the cabins? There will be six of us going the next time and we need a bigger place.
I thought the cabins would be nice since we could cook in or out and save money that way.

Has anyone stayed there?

I stayed there last summer with 6 people. I know that there are currently codes out there until July 3rd, so yes, codes do come out for the cabins. They are really nice and almost like your very own little apartment. The cabins are the same size as a double-wide trailer to give you an idea of how big they are. If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask and hopefully I can help you!

They are the same size as a short single-wide.

Cabins are usually included in the codes. I've seen them as low as $139. The new layout of the Wilderness homes is a little more cramped than the old trailers, but still decent sized. I would say it depends on who is going with you and how close you are - there is only one bathroom.

In the bedroom there is a a full size bed (it may be a queen, but I'm not sure) and a set of bunk beds. There is a full size murphy bed in the living room area. The kitchen is decent sized.

The last time we stayed in one it was myself, dh, mother and aunt and I thought it was a bit cramped, but if some of the party are children it shouldn't be too bad. With a code it will be substantially less than renting a 2 bedroom from DVC - you would need a 2 bedroom min for 6 people and the points are in the 20+ range. Now if you can't get a code for a cabin it maybe an option.

Hope that makes sense. Good luck!

Thanks for the info!

I thought they looked a little small, but thought it might be nice in the campground area.

It would be DH, myself, at that time my DD will be 18, her friend, same age and our two boys that will be 10 and 7.

So, yes, I think it would be a little cramped.

I will have to look into renting DVC points I guess!
Oh well...DH will just have to go along with it!;)
