Aw, crap! That was me, not Mutt, talking to you Denise! :rolleyes2 (Bob will enjoy the fact that I DID IT AGAIN after making fun of him ...)

 :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl: :cheer2: :dance3:

Happy Wednesday everyone! Hope you are having a good week.

I need your opinion.....we're flying in early the day before the cruise and would like to do something with the kids. Is there anything to do in Cocoa Beach besides Kennedy Space Center (I was thinking the kids would be too little for that...maybe not? They're 7 & 4). Otherwise, we were thinking of doing Sea World and staying in Orlando for the night. Any input would be helpful.

Thanks!

If you do consider Orlando, one thing that DW and I are thinking about doing that we had to miss in '04 is they do a HUGE ice sculpture exhibit at Gaylord's. Now, this may not sound like a lot of fun for kids, but some of the sculptures are play on type things like an ice slide.

As for doing Kennedy Space Center, if the launch stays scheduled for 12/14, the shuttle should already be on the launch pad. But, personally speaking form my childhood memories, all males love rockets at all ages and the kids would have a blast!

Trust me ... the kids would love KSC! Tons of kid's stuff. Check out kennedyspacecenter.com. Plus if you go on nasa.gov now, there's an entire area for kids including online books about space and activities to get them geared up for it.

Oh, and Bob? You're a brat! :p

KSC will be great for a 4 & 7. We went last year after we got off the boat. Mine is 9 and he enjoyed it and so did the rest of the family. I have great pictures of him in a couple rockets out back.

Give it a shot.

Pardon my lack of Florida knowledge but isn't that Ripley's upside down house near the Orlando area? If I were a kid (dont even go there, love muffin or the only pizza you'll be eating will have anchovies on it)-----annnnyyyywaaaayyys....If I were a kid, I'd love to see the inside of that thing! Just a thought from your friendly neighborhood mutt.

Enjoy wednesday everyone....I wanna cruise now....NOWWW! :sad1:

I think I might like to do the Space Center. Im a big Kid and it sounds like fun. we should look into it.

PS
for those of you who dont know Dandy8 is my wife. We both work and dont have any time off together. So some time we will post back and forth to each other on the boards since we dont see each other awake to offen. I know it must seem weird to some people reading the boards wondering why we are posting back and forth to each other.

:yay: Im ready to cruise now, however, then it would just about be over. :sad2:

Well hope everyones Wednesday was good. I am taking off Friday and Monday from work, however, we are moving our office to another suite across the hall. The move starts on Friday afternoon. So after I do my planned errands I guess I will stop into work and help with the move. Most likely will be there until evening.

Denise

Hello Everyone: Haven't been on the Boards much since we left for a Memodirl Day weekend visit to WV to spend time with 2 of our grandchildren.

Lampy: My DH works for Ford. And, he's still working!

It was a beautiful morning in mid-Michigan and as I was driving down the road, I listened to a Jimmy Buffet CD wishing I was hearing his voice in the Caribbean somewhere.

We're anxiously awaiting for grandchild #6 to be born sometime this month. I'm on-call when my daughter goes into labor as I am taking care of my 2 year old grandson.

I don't know about anyone else, but I won't be sorry to see Labor Day arrive which means less than 3 months until we cruise again. We're now in the early planning stages for a 2007 cruise (not a Med) with some other DISers.

Enjoy the upcoming weekend!

Jan

Good Morning everyone,

I hope you are all off to a great start today!

I just heard that over the weekend here with the heat index it is going to be over 100 degrees out!!! :sunny:
Guess I am not going to Epcot to see Hermans Hermits this weekend!!
They have their flower power concert going right now, and We go several times each year, but I am NOT going in that heat to an outside concert!!

I think we will just hang out around the pool and keep cool!! :rolleyes1

Anybody out there got any special plans this weekend?? :confused3

Kathy

Going to be a hot one in Atlanta this weekend. Highs will be in the low to mid 90s. I think this calls for a trip to the local ice cream shop! :thumbsup2

No big plans for Lisa and I. I will probably end up working part of the weekend in preparation for my next client. Doesn't that sound like fun! I need a waterproof laptop. Then I could sit in the yard under the sprinkler and work.

No fair!!
it is supposed to be in the 50's/60's this weekend here.
One weather report said mid 40's for the night on saturday.... :sad2:

I call NO FAIR, too, Athene! How am I supposed to manage any kind of tan with this weather?? :(

Saturday: partly cloudy. Highs in the mid 60s.
Saturday Night: partly cloudy. Lows in the upper 40s.
Sunday: partly cloudy. Highs around 70.
Sunday Night: partly cloudy. Lows in the mid 50s.

Do it just like any other American woman, get it from a bottle or a fake & bake store!

Actually, this is the time of year I would love to live up North. I would love the weather forecast listed above. And, Lisa is the same way!

Shell, Athene,
I wish I could send some of the :sunny: your way!!

Florida is way to hot in the summer for my taste!!!

But you gotta love the winters here, they are awesome!!!

Kathy

Gosh, it's been hard to get on these boards today! The server is on overload.

Kathy please send some sun this way too......we've had nothing but rain this week.

Thanks for everyone's input on KSC, looks like we may do that.

Howdy,
I agree the server problems on this board have been terrible the last two weeks!

I have a question for all you cleaver people, and i would appreciate input from the not so clever people too!! In other words all of you!!
I just read a thread about a lady wanting to do a scavenger hunt on board for her kids. That got me to thinking my GKs woud love something like that when we cruise in August.
So i am asking for any of you to give suggestions about clues to use. Obviously it wouldnt be to physically get things, just find places and things around the ship. At the last place I will be waiting with a small treasure chest for each of them with some goodies and#$$ to take on the islands.

Her example was something like you have to walk on the red to find the gold.
She was referring to the Golden Mickeys show in the WD theater. The kids are 12 and 15. So I have been working on ideas, but I am not too bright at such things. Any ideas you could throw my way would be greatly appreciated.

Kathy

:confused3 I'm the last person to ask when it comes to this kind of stuff. I'll let all the people with great imanaginations help you with this one.

The weather here this weekend end is going to be in the mid 60's. Not great plans, just hanging out at home and some grocery shopping....exciting I know..

Have a great Friday everyone.

Denise
