Wii U or another game system?

Would it be better to upgrade our Wii to WiiU or go with a different game system? Most of the games they play are the Lego games, Lego Batman etc. but I was looking at the Disney Infinity for Christmas but we have 4 boys and the 1 player feature seems like a drawback as they usually do 2 coop on the lego games. We have been having problems without Wii as it's old so I know we're going to need to replace it but I'm not sure whether to stick with Wii. My DH and I don't know anything about gaming systems. But, we don't play overly violent/gory games like mortal combat etc. so we don't need a system for those. They also like the driving and sports games. Any advice would be helpful, thanks.

Santa brought us a wiiU last year and we are loving it, but I have to admit it gets mostly used for netflix and watching amazon prime stuff. Great interface and easy to use. That said, the 2 different perspective gaming is so cool and awesome and we love it, love the games, love nintendo. We had a wii too before this. It's been almost a year and I don't regret buying it, would buy it again.
