I'm trying to get my kids a wii for Christmas. We got a pretty good deal this morning on the actual wii at kmart, but now I'm working on the remotes. I found in the Toys R Us ad that the mini remotes are on sale for $30 from $50. I don't know the difference though. Will I regret the mini ones? Can I still get a charging station for them? Here's the link to then on their website.

buy only nintendo licensed remotes, and that being said, but only the ones with motion plus, a lot of games coming out will require it.
i cant tell you how many off brand (NIKO) remotes we have returned because they are faulty or dont work at all.

Would you mind sharing what kind of deal you got at kmart? Online I'm only seeing the same $199 for the bundles as I'm seeing everywhere else.

Thank you!

might have been the red wii bundle, still $199, but it comes with new super mario bros, wii motion built into the controller and sports resort.

I bought it online for the $199, but with the 10% off for the friends and family discount today only. Plus, when you buy the red one this week, you get 50,000 bonus rewards points. That's $50 we can spend on something else at Kmart, so I thought we could get another remote with that. That means I got the wii, remote, nunchuk, and 2 games for $180 plus next week I can get the remote free at the store when my points are credited to my kmart card.

You got the Friendsand Family discount on the Wii bundle? It says that video game hardware is excluded. I'm not getting that discount in my cart.

It does sound like you got a great deal between the discount and the rewards. I'm hoping to find something like that myself.

a lot of times special bundles and stuff will slip through the no hardware included deals at retailers. they tend to have diffrent skus (that arent blocked by discounts) and will go awhile before it is caught.. :thumbsup2 so if youre ever looking at something like that, always check early

We bought the wii play game with included wii branded motion sensor remote. You get a decent game and the remote! Amazon has it for $19 plus #3.99 shipping from Gamers factory.

I work at gamestop.

I use the nintendo brand wii motes and an energizer charger station. One alternative to buying a bunch of separate wii motes is to buy the games that come with wii motes.

How many are in the wii bundle you're buying? A regular wii (no bundle) has one wii mote. This is absolutely fine if you only have one player games.

I suggest one wiimote for each player that a game can support. If you only have 1 player games, only get one wii mote. If you have 2 player games, get two, four player games get four. Of course, only if there are 4 people in your family. If you only have 2-3 people, just get 2-3.

One game that comes with the wii mote is wii play. It is a game with an extra wii mote in the box. Its a good deal because it costs about as much as a regular wii mote, but you get a game too.

Here's one bundle you might be interested in for the wii itself:

For 199.00 you get the wii, a remote, a nunchuck, Wii Sports, and New Super Mario Brothers Wii. Its a great deal.

I suggest you go to your local gamestop and ask some questions about what exactly you need for your family.

Thanks for the heads up! We've needed an extra remote for a while & this is perfect.

Was this new? I thought Gamers Factory only sold used.:confused3 Amazon has it listed as new, but I am wondering if it is a typo/mistake. If not, what a great deal!

Thank you!!! That's a great deal. While I normally wouldn't have picked up the game on its own, the remote itself is worth more than that so it makes a great way to get a second remote. THANK YOU!!!

Thanks for that info, thats really good to know ;)

ETA I was so excited to see this post I forgot about the OP!

Target has the Wii remotes with motion plus on sale this week, I can't remember the pricethough (nevermind I think that was last week).

I'm on the hunt for another remote and another nunchuck. We only have one of each and definitely need two. I'll check out the play game on Amazon. thanks. :thumbsup2

Did anyone get theirs yet? It said that it was new and the games were shrink wrapped. The remotes were clean but really scratched up and one smelled of smoke. One remote was in a box with batteries. The other did not have a box and the batteries were already in the remote.:confused3 The boxes were also torn up enough that I am probably not going to give them as gifts now. I guess I will just keep them here if they work.

I received mine. The box was not shrink wrapped & the remote was a regular remote not the sensor remote. I didn't have much time to look at it as I was keeping as a secret from DD for Christmas. I'll take a better look at it tonight. Were we scammed?

Has anyone bought the lightsabers that you put the wii remotes in to play the star wars games? We are getting our kids a wii for Christmas, and Costco had a double pack of the lightsabers for $25. Will the wii sensor remotes that now seem standard with a wii purchase work with these lightsabers?:confused3
