Has anyone ever brought a router and hooked up a wii to the Internet at the Fort to stream netflix? (after purchasing 24 hr access on a laptop)

I searched here and the web in general but couldn't find anything.

I'd appreciate any insight. thanks!

1) It does work.
2) But, based upon Internet usage, streaming can be jerky.
3) If too many people logon, the transfer rate decreases.

Thanks for the reply. We have to purchase Internet access today so I thought I would give it a try.

I am a little unsure as to how the wii will get online since on the laptop you have to login through an Internet browser. Do you have to login through the opera browser on the wii?

Thanks!

I use a Wii at home for Netflix so may be able to offer some help. You will need to get the Wii to access the web by either using an ethernet cable hooked up to the Wii and then to an Ethernet port on the Disney supplied router (cable is a Wii accessory which I do not own so have no personal experience with it, should just plug in).

Your other option is to plug a wireless router (I use one) from home that is already configured, to the ethernet port on the Disney router/modem. If you are already using a wireless router at home for the Wii it will not 'know' it is not at home and should come right up.

If this seems too confusing, you can always access your Netflix Instant Que on the laptop. Again depending on the local useage, may be jerky and hard to watch. I suggest enjoying the parks and not fretting about watching Netflix though, just my opinion!:thumbsup2

I have cut back my DirecTV bill a huge amount by watching Netflix Instant on the Wii.

We are here for an extended visit so we will have plenty of time to enjoy the parks. For the days we are hanging out at the site it's nice to be able to watch a movie or TV without commercials, and I can only take so much of the disney channel. :goodvibes

I understand how the wii connects to the Internet at home and we have a wireless router here as my sister has to work some days during our trip. What I don't understand is how the wii will connect since on the laptop you have to sign on via the webpage.

Thanks!
