Wii game suggestions for 8 yr old girl & 3 yr old boy

Hi All,

We just got a Wii in October for our kids and I was wondering what games I should get them for Christmas? Any great games out there? I know the 3 yr old is a little young but I thought there might be something educational/fun for his age and then something more exciting for my 8 yr. old dd. Thanks!!

I'm new to Wii also so I'm not sure what is out there that is educational. I just bought my kids (7 & 2) Just Dance Kids for Christmas. I'm not sure if your son likes to dance but they have songs for toddlers like Happy Birthday and other kid songs and then current songs your daughter would recognize.

I dont know about educational but Mario Kart is fun for everyone...my 3 year old son plays it by himself and LOVES it.

If they are willing to play together the Wii I Spy game is good. My nephews have it (7 and 4) and play it together with the older one working the controls and the younger one pointing out the items.

Mario Kart is hilarious even if they aren't very good at it -- steering is an easy motion.

My 8 yr old DD loves Just Dance, the regular one, not the kids one. She has asked for Just Dance 2 for X-mas which I just bought online today at Kmart for $32 out the door. This is the cheapest I have seen as it is usually $39.

She also loves Mario Kart.

She plays Animal Crossing and Hannah Montana a lot too. I think both of these games are boring though and brutal to watch.

I don't think you could go wrong with Mario Kart or Just Dance though.

Also, since your kids are young, and might not know the difference b/w new and used, you might think about getting some used games at a store like GameStop, etc. We find that when the kids are so young, they lose interest in games pretty quickly or don't like the games they get. They are expensive for not much play. My DD8 has no idea that we get them used at Game Stop.

My DD8 also loves Mario Kart, she loves Super Mario Brothers, Mario Galaxy, (she wants Mario Galaxy2 for Christmas), all the Wii Play and Wii Sports games.

She had TSM and got bored with it quickly

The Toy Story game was a great choice. We all love that in this house.


For the 3 year old, there is are 2 different Go Diego Games out there that are fun. The Safari Rescue is one we have and it's great because it has a figure on the screen that shows you how to use the remote for each things as it comes up (climbing, jumping, shaking trees). It makes it easier to learn.

we love TSM..but I think the Epic Mickey may be way over thehead of a 3 yr old and also too dark....jmho.

My daughter is 8 and I will give you her wish list...
Just Dance 2, Wii Monopoly, Poke'Park, PacMan Party, and Wii Party. She just got the Wii Disney Sing It 2 for her birthday and LOVES IT! Wii Sports Resort is also a big hit with her and her friends.
