Soon enough it will be me answering these types of questions but for right now I'm just pretty clueless as to what type of Wii game to get my 14 year old cousin. He's a bit of a jock in real life, but I don't know what types of games he prefers playing on the Wii. Any recommendations? Thanks!!! Oh, the cheaper the better as we have a $30 cap. :lmao: Much appreciated, really!

My son is almost 14 and has asked for this year: WarioWare Smooth Moves (it's older I believe) Mario Cart, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Super Mario Galaxy.

We JUST got the Wii so we have nothing for games yet, if your cuz has had his for awhile he probably has some.

He's not a jock, but does skateboard, so no advice for sports games. Mario is pretty safe tho. Ask his mom if he has a list. I told my son to make a list b/c he's getting hard to shop for - teenagers! or else relatives will get you a bunch of stuff you won't like....he now makes lists, and when my family asks I dole it out.

Thanks for the suggestions! They got theirs last year but they haven't bought any new games for it so at least I don't ahve to worry about buying the same one. :p I will call my aunt again and ask a little bit more about it just to be safe. I'm sure the Mario games will be a hit, who doesn't love Mario??

Mario Cart... You can't go wrong with any type of racing game, IMO. Also, any of the sports style games would be a good bet. I spotted a mini-golf game that I believe will be a hit at my house. I believe one of the funnest games is the Golf game, believe it or not, which comes with the Wii.

Since you have a budget might I suggest a GameStop Gift Card or a couple of games used - When I was there on Tuesday they had a buy 2 get 1 free deal for all used games. Their used games are warrantied so if they don't work they can be returned and if he has them he can take them back and exchange them. The guys who work there are also good at suggesting games. My kids have gotten some fun games there; Madden NFL, Crash, Mario and Sonic at the Olympics, etc. GameStop also has a good selection of the used Game Cube games which can be used on the Wii and they are often even cheaper.

Oh, if only I could give a gift card my life would be so much easier! :p We do an exchange with my family so for Christmas gifts we aim to give actual gifts that they can enjoy right away. Birthdays are all about the gift cards though! :rotfl:

Thanks again for all the suggestions, I've got them in mind for this weekend when I head out!

My husband and I have a 13 year old son who just picked out a *really* fun game for his birthday called Dokapon Kingdom. It's very similar to Mario Party, but we actually think it's a lot more fun. There is a story mode and a free play mode. The game is also rated "E" for everyone.

I know you can buy it off of Gamestop.com - you can even check out the video for Dokapon Kingdom right off there website. The game should be going for $29.99 as well. I'd post the link, but for some reason I can't.

Good luck to you!

How about Madden '08? The '09 version is already out so the '08 version may be cheaper. Its my 10 yo's favorite game for the Wii.
