My dad had bypass surgery on Friday. The doctor said that he cannot play golf for 4 months and cannot do a lot of lifting or pulling. I was wondering if a wii fit would be good for his recovery?

I would definitely check with the doctor first. It's true that you can control how much effort you put into it, but it can be a stressful experience, so definitely check with the doctor before using it.

Physical Therapists are incorporating the Wii into their rehab programs.
If you speak with the cardiac rehab people they will probably be familiar with what is appropriate use.

The retirement community that my parents live in got a Wii and it has been very popular among the elderly - especially the Wii bowling. They love to go to Wii bowling night - either to play or as spectators.

I would ask the doctors what they think. That said you can actually play Wii with no more than a flick of the wrist. When I am lazy I play that way myself. I do try to get into it more often though because it is fun.

Talk to the doctors about it. Maybe your dad could do wii fit exercises for short periods of time.
