Hi

My wife and I are going to Disney next weekend for her birthday, 53. We are staying at BW for the three nights. We are arriving 11/29 and her BD is 12/1. Just wondering what anyone else might have done to surprise their loved one when they were at DW for their birthday.

Thanks
Kevin

This usually takes some advance planning, but you could look into seeing if you may still be able to book a wishes or illuminations fireworks cruise. I don't know how far in advance you need to book them, this time of year. But let's be honesty, just being in WDW for my birthday would be enough. :thumbsup2 I hope you both have a wonderful time.

We were at BWV for my DH's birthday this year. I booked a Segway tour at Epcot for the two of us for his birthday, followed by lunch at Chefs de France. We had done the Segway tour before on the older Segways. The newer ones are easier to ride and even more fun. We had a blast!

Hubby and I are checking in on the 29th at the boardwalk too. And it is a co-inkiy-dinky that we were both 53 this year! So Happy Birthday to your honey! This is a busy weekend with the taping of the Disney Christmas Parade. Maybe a quiet dinner at one of the resorts like Grand Floridian. ENJOY!!

We celebrate DH's b'day every Nov. at WDW. I always try to plan something special. When staying at the Boardwalk, I called and arranged for a b'day cake to be delivered to the room after dinner. We've also done the Wishes B'day cruise. One year I made reservations for the Segway Tour and it was a big hit.

This year was by far the best. We had dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern (one of his favs) where they brought him a b'day cupcake and a card signed by all the characters. Later that night, we took the Breathless cruise to see Illuminations. It was wonderful. To quote DH "As many times as I've seen Illuminations, it's like seeing for the first time."

Since you're staying at BWV, it might not be too late to order a cake to be delivered to the room and it's probably not too late to reserve one of the special tours. Where every you plan to dine that week, let them know it's your wife's bday and they will do something special. Good luck and have fun!

You can also order something from www.disneyflorist.com and have it delivered to the room for her. They are excellant. We have had baskets ordered for our friends and they really enjoyed them and we were also surprised with baskets from friends. You can have items customized check out the website and if you want something changed or added just give them a call and they can help you out!!! ENJOY!!!

Wow! You are cool for even thinking about it this far in advance!

We had some friends that stayed at the Grand Floridian and he called MS and "ordered" Minnie to come give a bday greeting for his wife! Now, the cost of that, and how he made it all happen, I have no idea! But, that is super cool!

Grand Floridian dinner with Cinderella @ 1900 Park Fare, they would treat your wife like royalty. That would be cool!

Bought all-you-can-eat lunch with ribs, etc for 24 cousins, aunts, uncles family at whispering canyon. I don't know how much they have changed the restaurant, but I think our waiter and waitress were professional actors because they were unbelievable funny and entertaining. it was one gag after another. Everyone was in stitches and had the greatest time. At the end they marched us around the Xmas tree in the lobby of the WL on stick-horses while singing happy birthday. The finale was a chocolate cake with chocolate genache icing that everyone said was the best cake they had ever eaten. We bought a full sheet and had enough cake for everyone for a week. Also got the balloons. Set me back well over $500 but worth every penny. It is now the benchmark for birthday parties on our whole extended families and may never be equaled.

Maybe we'll see you. Just listen for the Jersey accent! :)

Yeah GOOD OLE JERSEY ACCENT!!!
Hey-:cool1: I might not be able to tell I have the same accent!!!!

When you check in, tell the front desk CM that it's your wife's birthday - they should give her a Happy Birthday pin to wear. My husband and I got Happy Anniversary pins when we were there on our anniversary and got a few freebies because of it - free ice cream cone at MGM near the Tower of Terror, free piece of cake for dessert at a couple of places. The wait staff at Whispering Canyon should make a big deal out of it if they are told. Mention her birthday when you check in for any meal reservations.

And Happy Birthday to your wife! Hope you have a wonderful trip!!

Congratulations and best wishes. From my experience, I did this for my wife’s special occasion. Book a reservation at the California Grill. This is the restaurant at the top of the Contemporary. Book it for the evening and you can enjoy a great view of the fireworks at the Magic Kingdom at 10:00 PM. Do your homework and select a good bottle of wine as part of your evening. Well worth it!!!

You can also get the birthday buttons at each of the parks (different button at each park). You can pick it up at customer relations as you enter each park. We were waiting in line to have our picture taken with Mickey and one of the cast members got everyone in line to sing happy birthday to my friend. You never know how they will surprise you!! Have a wonderful weekend and I hope your wife has a wonderful birthday! Enjoy!
