I can not believe that we have now sunk to this level. I know that it is not to be consumating relationships but how long before this show reaches down to this . Another piece of fine ABC family programing..

Hmmm, a new twist on a "fish out of water" story. I think people may have more trouble with the "title" than anything else, huh?

There are always "celebrities" and "Newpeople" spending a day in someone else's shoes...this just is longer than a day.

Sounds a lot like the reality version of Freaky Friday.

ABC is not the Disney channel. If people don't want to watch it, they don't have to. Besides, it seems like the thing that would bother people most is the title of the show. The show it self actually sounds like it might be entertaining.

I have just looked it up and it is the same idea as the wife swap tv show here in the UK.

So far we have had 2 series i think and a celebrity series and it is one of the funniest things on tv.

As stal said Wife Swap has had two series aired in the UK and it is compulsive viewing, absolutely hilarious. Why on earth people volunteer for this is beyond but it is great viewing.

Since none of us in the US have seen this series, how in the world can you make such a blanket statement based solely on the wording of a TITLE, and not to mention that this seres is a copy of a British series? It isn't about "Wife Swapping" in the usual vernacular. I still say it will be a combination of Freaky Friday and that Paris Hilton series (can't remember the name, only saw it once.) It may actually be a funny and well watched reality series...though the market seems flooded with reality series.

Since the show's on ABC, it's not like there's going to be anyone watching the show.


Actually, the more offensive show is "The Ultimate Love Test" (formerly titled "What Happened in Cabo Stays in Cabo"). The show takes one half of a married couple and sends them to Cabo San Lucas to cavort with members of the opposite sex while everything is video taped (and said tape is then shown to the spouse back at home).

In other words, Disney presents the ruined lives of money-grubbing media hacks tempted by a bunch of wannabe models/actors/waiters with cleaver editing to create phony drama.

Family fun for all.


Oh, and Disney just fired the head of E! Entertainment Television. It seems not only did the staff hate her, that she drove the ratings down, but there are charges she "misappropriated funds" including having the staff of E!'s new home decorating show (yes, Disney is hot up on that trend) do a free makeover of her Malibu beach house. So how does Disney fire someone who takes money from the company?

They gave her a $20 million dollar severance package.

A few additional facts:

Comcast is the majority owner of E! Disney is the minority partner. Comcast also approved the severance package for the departing Mindy Herman.

According to the E! spokesperson, Comcast approved the makeover of the bedroom in her Malibu home.

Herman's contract provides for an exit package based on the company's increase in value during her tenure.

The value of E! and Style together has jumped to about $4 billion today from about $1.9 billion in 1999, company sources say. (Herman took over in 2000).

Subscribers to the E! Entertainment channel have grown from 59 million to 85 million and revenue went from just over $200 million to $350 million in 2003, the company said.

Subscribers to the Style Network grew from 7 million to an expected 40 million by the end of the year, Comcast said.

If anyone is interested, after 1 series and celebrity specials a new series of Wife Swap started this week here in the UK. Viewing figures were good and it gave the channel their second highest viewers figures of the year.
