Do you prefer your DVD or VHS movies in widescreen or Full Screen?

For some reason I prefer Full Screen, I guess because is what I was always used to.

I think people don't know what they are missing watching Full Screen. When you watch the movie Grease, I don't think you see Bowser from Sha-Na-Na once. Pop in the widescreen version and there he is. :)

I buy widescreen, sometimes if renting though, I will get the fullscreen depending on the movie. Of course if it is something that was made in Full Screen originally, then I will get full screen

Widescreen.

I buy them in the hopes that some day I'll actually be able to afford one of those big, widscreen TV's!

I used to buy all of my DVDs in full screen. Now that we have a wide screen tv, I'm kicking myself!!

It depends. If the movie (or TV show) was filmed and shown in widescreen, then widescreen.

If it was filmed full screen, then cropped to widescreen, you will see more in the fullscreen, then the "cropped" widescreen. You get extra picture at the top and bottom that wasn't included in the widescreen.

Over all, I prefer widescreen.

And there's a special place in heck for the guy who thought up "Pan and Scan".

I hate wide screen! Why have a 35" TV if the move doesn't use like 4 or 6 inches of it!

Because I would rather see the whole movie rather than miss half of it using full screen.

Agreed. DH is the one who got me to understand this, and now we always buy widescreen.

I wish they would go back to offering both options on the same DVD.
Widescreen is definitely the way to go if you are watching it on a larger screen at home but if you have the DVD player in the car with a small screen to begin with fullscreen looks better.

LOL!!! I couldn't agree more!

And widescreen over fullscreen for me everytime!

Definitely widescreen! I hate missing all that I do with fullscreen... we have a wide screen TV, so it's great for that.

Of course if they were originally done in full screen I do want that ;)
