Why would trips starting on a Sun be a problem?

I have seen in some past posts people say it is a problem when your trip starts on a Sunday.
Why? They thought it was harder to get DVC bookings, dining reservations, etc. Why?

We literally start every trip on Sunday. Lower air fare, lower points per night, and several family members actually have Sunday and Monday off, so it lessens vacation days taken. I’ve never had any problems getting every dining reservation we’ve wanted.

I'm guessing popular holiday/school weeks, maybe it's harder to get dining reservations starting on a Sunday versus the Saturday as the start of your window? Other than that, IDK why it would be harder.

When you stay onsite you get to make dining reservations for your entire trip up to 10 days. So the people whose trips start Saturday and stay a week get to reserve a day ahead of the people who start on Sunday. Some times and locations can be full before the Sunday people even get a chance.
The same applied when you had to book Fastpasses 60 days out. Ride availability for the Sunday-arrival crowd could be very limited.
I've never noticed that DVC bookings were hard to get when starting on Sunday and I have done it a lot. I think there is enough of a mix of the days that people check in and out that the availability of rooms seems to be adequate for both Saturday and Sunday arrivals.

we 90% of the time start a trip on Sunday and never had any issues. Been members since 2002

I've been on this board since forever and have never seen a thread referencing the negatives of starting a vacation on a Sunday aside from the always referenced costs of points on weekends. Maybe I've somehow missed all of them? I readily admit that I live on this particular sub-forum more than most.

I could have posted this, but like you, I live almost exclusively on the DVC Forums. :)

I always travel to WDW on a Thursday and return on Sunday a week later. This works for me. I usually do not have issues getting the ADRs that I want. Thursdays at the airport are a bit less hectic than Fridays, which is why I travel on that day.

But Sundays are the same price as weekdays. That’s why we like arriving on a Sunday. Sunday through Thursday or the occasional Friday means zero or only one weekend night. If you’re staying for 7 nights, no matter what day you arrive on, you’re paying for a Friday and Saturday.

Can you point us to such posts? Quote any? Maybe then we could figure out what the issue is, because like the other owners above, I don’t recall any negative issues related to arriving on Sunday. In fact, many owners booking 5 nights or less like to arrive on Sunday, to avoid the more expensive Friday and Saturday nights.

The only negative “Sunday-related” issue I can think of is the prohibition against listing a confirmed reservation that begins on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday in the DISboards DVC Rent/Transfer forum. That prohibition is because RCI/II exchanges generally begin on Friday, Saturday or Sunday, and it’s against RCI/II rules to rent exchanges.

Do you book your flight or your resort reservation first?

Our next trip is planned for a Sunday arrival and a Tuesday departure. It is a 9 day stay.

I started following google flights for the best price but wondered what I should book first.

We always booked our resort reservation first, usually at 11 months to the day. Then we’d book airfare. OTOH, for much of our ownership we’ve lived where driving was an option, so we didn’t always fly.

I thought that was what I said. Maybe I didn't state it very well.

Fixed Weeks always start on a Sunday. I can't really figure out why that would affect anyone else, but it's the only "difference" that I can think of for Sunday compared to all the other days.
