Hello: We have two weeks booked for March and April next year and we've decide after being annual passholders for many year to forgo the passes and not enter the parks. We're displeased and shocked with what is happening with Disney World regarding genie plus and pay for the rides individually. Can I afford the cost, most definitely, but, the whole thing about paying extra to go on the attractions after paying the high park entry fee is insulting. I've watched the wait times for the major attractions for quite a while and appalled at the standby wait times. If I was a cynical person, I would say Disney is purposely making the standby wait times long in order to increase revenue. So, we plan to spend two weeks at BCV enjoy all the facilities and not go in the parks to stand in long lines. We'll find other things to do and enjoy eating and spending our dollars at some non-disney establishments. Thanks Disney for giving us the reason to try a non-park Disney holiday. Thanks Canadian Tom

You need to fix the title of your post.
I agree somewhat that this Genie/lightening thing is quite ridiculous. I was hoping it will crash and burn. The free fast passes worked out great for us for many, many years. Key word here being “free”. It’s disgusting they are charging to get to the head of the line on top of paying high admission fees.
We will, however, renew our passes when the time comes. We take at least four trips a year and enjoy our time in the parks.....early morning or later evening.
There are lots of things to do without going to the parks. Enjoy!

I actually think you’ll have an amazing time skipping the parks. Be sure to do some resort hopping. It’s my favorite thing to do, and with your length of stay, you can see them all easy-peasy. So much to see and eat and do. Even character meals.

Our last 2 trips, we spent the least amount of time in the parks that we ever have. It was still an amazing trip.
We still had APs, so we could go where ever we wanted and enjoyed that option. Both trips, we were out of the parks by 2 and then returned early evening.

Because I have just read your other thread and the ‘not’ is missing in the title of this one, I thought that you might have had a quick change of heart. I hope that you have a fabulous time whatever you decide is right for you.

Rent a car and go out and explore Orlando. The area has so much to offer.

This was the first year we also didn't visit the parks on one of our weeks. We discovered so much outside of the Magic Kingdom and really enjoy our stay.

I'm sorry you are right Welsh Dragon, I did leave out the no from my post title. It should have read, " Why we're not going to buy annual passes again".
