See, you made me think of more, Snoop, LOL. I was just looking at (did not buy yet) GF grills this week, only because I have heard of them here.

That was a classic call, Snoop, to John on 9/12. And since my family trip in '99, I have made 7 WDW trips and 2 DL trip, all solo. Hopefully, my 8th trip back to WDW after our '99 one won't be solo in Dec.

Wow, what a neat thread! Uh...Bobbie... How was the sockless experience?

It's hard to think of anything specific... but I did learned much from the DIS, had fun, and survived a major downer work experience (thanks to some fine photography...Dan!). If it hadn't been for the DIS I might NOT have:

-ever gone into a chat room
-gone to Disneyland
-gone to WDW as often
-met some very nice and interesting people
-gone to the Adenturer's Club

I learned quite a FEW things on this board. One, is that everyone comes together when another is hurting. For example, pets deaths, family deaths, etc. Also, new products such as New M&M's, Vanilla Coke, Pepsi Blue, and Fluffernutters-HAD NO IDEA what these were. And I see WDW in another light, due to Dan Murphy and his GREAT PICTURES!

I would never have stayed at the Dolphin, let alone twice!!

I wouldn't have the beautiful glass ornament from KimRaye still hanging near my computer.

I wouldn't have a couple of very special E-mail friends, let alone the many many CB buddies I have!!!

I wouldn't be getting real nervous for my very 1st DIS Meet next Saturday!!!

There are movies I've seen - or not seen - because of the reviews here... Same with books.

I've starting sharing my opinions both here and in real life, I'm more open about stating my point of view...

I get to talk about the wedding lots and lots which is fun

and many other things that others have already mentioned!

The things the DIS has gotten me to try:

1.) a friend I made here has been supportive and knowledgable enough to get me out of the main room of the gym into the "stinky room" at the gym where all the big guys and free weights are! I'm getting pretty good at incline flies and side raises. I never would have had the guts to go in there without their support!

2.) DIS Meets starting next summer when I'm out of school! I'm looking forward to meeting so many people from the DIS. I never would have thought that I would want to meet anyone that I "met" on the Internet. LOL!!

3.) No Sew Blankets!!!

4.) I've never tried so many junk foods in my life. DISers start talking about something and I just have to try some the next day! LOL!! That's why I need the gym so bad.

I must've missed the sock thread SSB, but I wear socks to bed at least 300 nights a year. WHen it's very very warm I don't, but mostly I do.

Anyway, what would I have never done if not for the DIS? hhmm...

I registered on the DIS in October 2000. I'd been to Disney in 1993, 1996, and 1998. But I never would have gone 3 times in 18 months....2 X in 2001 and again last month

Never would have been the recipient of the legendary Swan/Dolphin (the man) magic and stayed in a suite at the Dolphin with DH, DD and DS, 4 months after finding the DIS.
Or go back 5 months later with DH for the first-ever S/D cheerleader meet and Drink Around the World I.
And then go back a year after that for 4th of July weekend with DD.

Never would have tied lime green ribbon on my suitcases and fanny pack.

Never would have bought a "squeeze breeze" at ToysRus----in LIME GREEN no less!

Never would have been battling DD each evening for computer time

Never would have believed it possible to make real true friends on the internet.

Since I registered back in 2000 - I have laughed, cried, comforted and been comforted here on the Dis.

If you would have told me a couple of years ago that I would have driven 5 hours one way to meet total strangers to talk about Disney - I wouldn't have believed you

Or the fact that I flew clear to Disneyland for a Dis Meet

Traveled solo to Dis Con and the wonderful memories that I have

But, most of all - I would have to say that what I have found myself doing the most is making new friends

hmmmm..... Without the DIS I would never have known about rewards programs . With what I earned we ate for free at WDW on our trip 2 years ago. I am now planning our 4th trip in 5 years to WDW..... I have a Minnie antenna topper on my car-I seriously never knew what those things were when I saw them in TDS.....I'd never thought I would meet so many wonderful people on an internet message board
