A little summary here:

I emailed the Executive Offices of WDW on June 30, 2008. In my email I asked why I am not ever considered for any PIN 40% off code or any other discount mailing.

I have the bouceback booked for Aug 19-31. 12 nights for $238.00 per night plus tax. (267.00 total per night)

Thats with a 30% off discount. The PIN mailing is for 40% off. There is another 10% discount out there that I wanted to know why I am not getting.

The girl at the Executive Offices (I did get her name but I will not post) called me today because in my email I had asked them to call me.

She told me ....and I quote--------

"ARE YOU ON THE NATIONAL DO NOT CALL REGISTRY?" I said YES. She then said, "DISNEY IS NOT ALLOWED TO SOLICIT YOU IF YOU ARE ON THAT LIST, WHETHER IT BE BY MAIL OR PHONE." :lmao:

"The only items you will get from Disney are the ones you have signed up for IE..Disneyinsider, Disneyshopping and others. ":rotfl:

"Because I am on the national do not call registry, I will NEVER get a PIN code."

Any one have an opinion on this ?

Its not sitting well with me. :scared1:

whoa...OMG, that can't be right. Companies you already do business with ARE allowed to solicit even if you're on the list (and it's a national do not call...not do not mail!) For example, your current bank is allowed to call you about new credit card offers...so if you're doing business with Disney already, they are allowed to call...and can mail any time they want.

Sux if that's their policy (even if it's not the actual law...but knowing Disney, their legal-beagles probably told them to do a really tough interpretation of the law.) Don't think it'd be worth it to start getting all the junk phone calls again to get that offer!:sad2:

I am thinking the same thing. I went thru the scenarios with her. She never wavered from her reasoning. During the 20 minute call, she not once wavered.

Its just crazy. :rotfl:

I totally agree with you. That makes absolutely no sense. The 'Do Not Call Registry' only applies to companies you've never done business with and don't want solicitations from.

We are on the "Do Not Call" list but still get calls from companies that we do business with or have done business with in the past. Disney qualifies as a company we have done business with in the past.

To me it would make sense for Disney to send the cards out to people who have stayed at their resorts regardless of whether they are on the "Do Not Call" registry. Disney is selling itself short by not doing this. There are people out there that would go more often if they got a 30% or 40% off pin code. I sure as heck would go more often and spend more money there if I knew I was getting a better deal on my room. That's just poor thought on Disney's part.

This year alone we will have gone to Disney 2x's. If DH gets a job transfer to Atlanta, we'll become AP holders and be there more often and would love to get a room cheaper.

Oh well.

maybe that's the real reason we don't get the offers...they know we're suckers who'll go anyway!:lmao:

I edited my post-while you 2 were posting...could be their legal dept that makes for the strict policy

I am on the do not call registry and DID get a pin code in the mail last March. I could not use it, but I did get a postcard.

I don't think that's true. I'm on the Do Not Call registry, and have recieved 3 PINs in the last year and a half. I think PINs are just a random thing, I didn't think there was any consideration on who gets them and who doesn't.....I thought they were just sent out at random. :confused3

yeah she's definetly wrong. unbelievable answer. if you're gonna lie, at least make it a believable one.

So far, I am agreeing with everyone. When she told me that, my jaw dropped to the ground.

When I gave her reasons on why she was wrong, she spin-doctored it.

The bad thing about all of this is that SHE IS FROM THE EXECUTIVE OFFICES.

Thats not good. I expect to get "shady" answers from CRO -CM's on the phone but not "Honchos".

Well, I am NOT on the do not call list, and I've never gotten a pin. DH and I have been going to WDW for years, and never, ever, recieved one postcard, email, or anything that could give us a big break. We always end going during value, using AAA or getting discount b/c he is military. They don't do the military thing very often, but we always get our tickets at SOG. Maybe someday......................

I'm on the Do Not Call Registry and have gotten 3 Pin codes in the past 6 months. I'd never received ANY until I signed up for the new planning DVD earlier this year.

Disney told me the same thing about the Do Not Call list. I also think it is a bogus answer. I feel this is the excuse they use to quiet us down. It gets Disney off the hook and pins it on us (the only pin WE will receive).

If their excuse was true, I would never receive email from Disney Destinations. I DO receive email from them, and tons of other Disney email, but it is NEVER EVER a code or discount. It is almost comical that the emails are always anything but a discount. I know these are bonuses and no one is entitled, it's just difficult when you see so many get 40% off and what have you, and others get nothing, ever. Ok, I've chewed enough sour grapes for one day, lol.

I have signed up for 2 DVD planning sets plus 2 DVC planning sets in the past two years and never received them. I have never had a problem receiving them in the past. I don't know what's up. Maybe I'll try again, because I NEVER EVER get codes and have signed up for every darn Disney thing you can think of, lol.

Maybe it has something to do with booking at full rate in the past as opposed to a AAA or other discount. I've never received a PIN or any other discount offer from Disney. I'm on the DO NOT CALL registry, but still get lots of DVC offers and credit card offers (already a DVC member and have the VISA card, so what a complete waste that is) and vacation offers (that are no different than what is on their site). Anytime we've ever booked, it has always been with a AAA or other discount.

Parmtoo, God Bless your husband and many wishes for his safe (and soon) return. :flower3:

Also on the do not call registry, and we've had two pin codes. I didn't actually receive the one last fall - I found out about it when I called to book our vacation. But I got the 20% one this year after ordering the vacation DVD (don't know if that one counts, as it seems everyone got it)...

We're on the Do Not Call registry and have PIN codes by mail. That's a very bizarre reason, what does that have to do with the mail?

:confused3 so do we make send them a list of names of those of us who want codes and title it "We want codes/pins, Please call us or send up discounts"? LOL!

I get mail from disney movie reward site, disney destinations, disney vacations but no mail codes from wdw. Doesnt make sense

I'm on the do not call registry. When I was preparing to buy DVC my guide asked me if I was on it, and said I would need to approve them for sending me solicitation materials before we could go forward. I don't recall how we did it, though. (My memoriy isn't as good as it used to be.) I also had to add them to my email approved list for my local provider to allow emails to go through. I do occasionally receive offers, and sometimes even at times I can use them! :) The offers I receive are through email mostly.

I'm on the national DNC registry and got a 40% pin code by email in January. But never anything by mail.
