Why Not Just Queue Up Another Disney Trip? Link to New TR 6/24 p136!

Even your phone pictures come out pretty good! :rotfl: I'm sure you're on the road by now, but have a wonderful trip and needless to say, we'll be here to hear all about it when you get back!

I have fallen a bit behind so am catching up. Hope you are having a lovely time at HHI Mary Ellen - can't wait to hear all about it! :thumbsup2

Love that you got the beets salad and enjoyed it as well. Great shopping pics and yay on Disney following you. I have to admit I have never heard of Nehi soft drinks :confused3

Great photos of Busch Gardens! Oh no on BG's version of Soarin' - doesn't sound good.

Yummy candy pics and I :rotfl: at the phone booth pics - hilarious!!

Wishing you safe travels and a fantastic time in HHI!!

I have to say that we love BG. It's definitely not Disney but it's great to have season passes and it's only 45 miles from driveway to parking lot! We don't do a full day unless someone's visiting. We get there at opening and are out by 2 or 3 and only hit what we want.

Europe in the Air ~ my gf and I both said it was BG's version of Soarin' ~ it's ok and my 5 yr old LOVES it so we end up on it every visit.

Alpengeist & Lochness ~ I can do them if I'm towards the front. Generally the back half I feel like I'm thrown around too much.

Apollo & Griffon ~ No problems sitting anywhere. LOVE  the hang time on Griffon! I've done the front row, I've done the entire ride hands up (just to freak out my sister, LOL) and I prefer 2nd or 3rd row because first row is way too much wind ~ this is gonna sound ridiculous, but I feel like my eyelids are "fluttering" if that makes any sense!

Did you do Mach Tower? I love the Mix It Up show (in Italy), Pet Shenanigans show and Das Festhaus is definitely a fave restaurant on the rare occasion we eat at the park.

I know you said it was low crowds when you went and there were only 2 of you, so it may not have been anything you'd notice, but I hate that BG doesn't have someone directing people to rows on the coasters ~ not so much Griffin, but the other ones. It's irritating to be in a group and switching spots with other people so everyone ends up on the same ride. Too many empty seats too.

Great BG pictures ME! We love that park too. My DH had one of his first real jobs there - I think at Das Festhaus. My MIL and FIL used to make us always go there for lunch! They have a lot of fun shows.

I agree - Lochness is Brain Rattling!!! That did it for me. I was in pain the rest of the day.

Hope you're having a wonderful trip at HHI!! Can't wait to see and hear all about it!

MEK, I hope you have a wonderful time at HH. Will be anxious to hear all about it and see your beautiful pictures.

Great MEGA update on BG, MEK. I remember one thing I didn't like about it was that they opened the park in phases. I was planning to go to the back of the park and work my way toward the front to try to avoid some of the crowds, but their system of opening the park thwarted my efforts. Looks like you were there at a less-busy time, so that must have been nice!

Enjoying your TR! I highly suggest the platinum pass from BG. We use it several times a year for BGW and Water Country and love to visit Orlando/Tampa for Sea World and BGT!! I can also tell you why you didn't get the Dark Castle story... When it first opened there was a pre-ride movie that they would show in a little room before you boarded the ride. It gave the whole back story. They no longer show it. I'm not sure why...probably held up the line too much.

I think I missed you & you are off on your HHI trip! Have a great time! I loved the BG pictures. We went to BG in Tampa last spring & thought it was OK. I rode Sheikra which is very much like Griffon. The hang nearly gave me a heart attack! So scary!

Have a great time at HH. I love the pics of BG, I've never been there, been to BG in Tampa & liked it. I just can't do the roller coasters that go upside donw. It's the one ride that make sme sick!:sad2:

We are leaving Tuesday for Gatlinburg, so need this short trip! Not Disney, but will do for now.

That was all fabulous!! I have always wondered what BG was like....and now I know! :goodvibes Very charming! Like Epcot with rollercoasters (ahh...wouldn't that be great if Epcot would add some coasters! :goodvibes).

And you were very wise to get the locker for your phone- iphone falling 15 feet on Sum of All Thrills, no problem. iphone falling from Alpengeist...not so much! ;)

So nice to text with you this morning- I am glad you have arrived in HHI safely and are enjoying your time there! I am REALLY looking forward to hearing all about that one! Also so happy the weather is nice for you- I love it there even in the heat and humidity of July & August- but I sure would like to see what it's like in October! :goodvibes

Many Disers refer to Universal Studios as the "Dark Side". I really haven't heard any nicknames for the Busch Parks, so I think I will affectionately refer to Busch Gardens as the "other dark side".

Or, "Where We Are Forced To Go Because Disney Has No Theme Parks in the Mid-Atlantic Region."

I'm pretty sure this is a B&M coaster which stands for

...what some people do when forced to ride these death machines.

Boring people. We both had the turkey breast sandwich. I put chips on my sandwich, in case you were wondering what that foreign substance was.

Philly style! :thumbsup2

I'll admit. I chickened out of this one. The whole 90 degree angle drop and the 6 second hang looking straight down unnerved me. After all, I am not a spring chicken anymore.

No, thanks! You know, that Big Thunder Mountain is a great ride. :rolleyes1

So DIS friends - tomorrow we are off to HHI! I won't be updating while we are away.

Have an awesome time!

Great pictures from BG. I didn't realize it was so themed. Very cool.

I hope you are having a fabulous trip. :goodvibes

Hi!

I am finally all caught up! I loved your pictures of BG! I went there when I was younger and chickened out on most of the rides

I hope you are having an amazing time at HHI! I love seeing your Facebook pics :goodvibes

Those pictures of BG bring back so many memories of being there as a kid. Its probably been over 25 years and I think its time to return! Loved the pictures.

I have been around for a while on the dis, but that was my first comment on this TR. :)

What a fun day at Busch Gardens!! Looks like a blast!'

Have a GREAT trip to HHI!! Can't wait to hear all about it!!

Busch Gardens looks like lots of fun! I have always wanted to give them a try.

Sorry I missed you send off! Hope you are having a great time!

Recently found this new TR and just got up to date (thanks to the links!!)

Loved your BG pics, it really is a pretty park. I was there a couple times as a kid, last time when I graduated HS (20 years ago OMG!!) so a lot has changed since I was there.

One thing that was there then was that Pompeii ride, it was pretty new then if I remember right and my Dad and I went on it. I remmeber it was just my parents and my grandmom and I and my dad said he and I had to go on all the rides since we didn't have any kids with us to go on them and my mom and Grandmom certainly weren't going to, LOL. The one we didn't do (and I think one of the only things still there now) was the Loch Ness Monster...back then and even now I just can't do upside down :scared1:

Hi Friends -

Just wanted to say Hi from Disney's HHI! We are having a wonderful time. This place is awesome and the magic is alive and well here. Love it! Just wish the trip was longer.

We are getting ready for happy hour and dinner. Today we kayaked and hit the pool. I'm as tan as summer. Sorry no pics yet as I haven't transferred anything to photobucket!

Thanks for all the good wishes.

You all gotta visit this place! And, Shadow the dog is alive and well but she wouldn't let me take her picture today.

And I met Dottie in the Mercantile who is the sweetest thing ever! She says "Hi" to Ellen.

See ya all soon!

MEK

Glad to hear you're having a wonderful time! :) I'm enjoying the Facebook updates!
