Why not CSR instead of POR? Are the pictures misleading? Help me please!

:( I read in this post you can take a ferry from DTD to POR, can anyone do this (even if not staying at the resort)? We will be in DTD on the day we arrive and I would love to see the resort in person to help make my decision, is this allowed??

Anyone can take the boat from DTD to POR. Get on the boat in the Marketplace area (by Captain Jack's restaurant). It is a 10 to 15 minute boat ride. Your first stop will be POFQ and your second stop will be POR.

We've stayed at both and much prefer CSR! We were so unimpressed with POR on our last trip that we were considering switching back to CSR for the remainder of our last trip.

We're returning to CSR this year! :thumbsup2

We've stayed at both, POR once and CSR twice. I definitely prefer CSR over POR, I thought it was much prettier.

I think it is all what your personal taste in theme is. Both are terrific resorts and worth the "bang for your buck". If you like one theme over the other, go with it. It's Disney World and you will have fun!

I wanted to try CSR for our next trip; however, all the unhappy reviews have me nervous. My DH just says book POR again because we liked it. We also tried POP, and it just wasn't for us. CBR remains a possibility if the good discounts are there even though we would be a little less happy with the double beds. I really want to try a new resort, but I don't want to be disappointed. I think we have finally decided to let the discounts determine where we end up. I don't know what we are going to do if they all have availability for the same prices (we aren't counting the little bit extra for CSR being a convention resort).

Sorry, that my post isn't much help. Just wanted to let you know you aren't alone in your dilemma.

Does CSR still offer massages at the resort? Many years ago I was the lounging wife whilst DH attended meetings there. But I don't see/hear many things about the spa options there now it seems. Love the new decor and i would consider another stay there.

I think if/when CBR finally upgrades to queen beds it will see a surge in popularity.

I believe they still offer massages. Spa is fully functional. Fitness club is nice for a hotel and all the equipment is brand new in 2011.

I can't speak for POR or CSR, but DH and I loved CBR when we stayed there last year for our anniversary. I don't honestly remember why we picked it over the other moderates, but we enjoyed ourselves and really enjoyed the resort. :yay:

This thread got me totally into CSR!!

For me it was just some random resort. When we stayed at All Star Sports in 2009 the buses leading to the parks and back often stopped at CSR and we always thought "COME ON, DRIVE!! WHY DO WE ALWAYS NEED TO STOP HERE???!!! #%&*!§n :furious::furious:"

It was like the people there were moving in slow-motion and we always stood there for ages. The result was that I always thought negative about the resort without even knowing much about it.

But I have read now about the Business Class and the rooms itself totally appeal to me!

By the way I always hope to improve my English by reading and posting on here...Last Friday I had my final english-achievement-course exam for my german high school diploma...While writing I once thought "without reading on the DIS daily I would be lacking of vocabulary"

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2
