Why not convert the Tomorrowland Speedway into a cars themed ride??

Sorry if this has been discussed. Has their been any talk of turning the Tommorowland Speedway into a Cars themed ride. It could be simply making the actual cars look like "Cars" looking vehicles.

No talk that I've heard of and I honestly can't see that happening. It doesn't "fit" with the Tomorrowland theme. Now, a Carsland at DHS would be wonderful but I don't believe that'll happen either.

Not sure how the speedway fits with a tomorrow land theme

I kind of agree that the Cars theme would work for speedway and think they should. With the site on the edge of tomorrow land. There would not be much notice. There's really not many things in tomorrow land that I would call tomorrow land or the future. A few are in the past or present now. Carousel of Progress needs another room at the end. I remember seeing it when the last room was unheard of. We are already there and have been in space for a while now. We could call it Yesterday Land

As long as the speedway has long lines and seems to be working. It's hard for me see Disney spending the money on it right now. I think they are looking at putting things that are different from other parks, in hopes everyone will visit them all. Frozen seems to be the money making tool for them now and I see them working on doing something with that if they can, but with Avatar and Star Wars on the table. They may not have the room or time for it now.

I agree on the need to re theme it. I've seen the Cars suggested on here a few times and always think its a great idea. The Speedway is hot, smelly and horribly outdated. We have a local amusement park (which we refer to as the ghetto amusement park it's so grimy) that has the same exact ride only with better theming (safari, fake animals). Nothing about the Speedway feels "Disney" to me, I'd love to see something done to make it special.

I understand Disney wanting families to visit other theme parks but its a good chunk of money to take a family to Disney as it is but then add another $1000+ for airline tickets to get to the other parks takes that theory away for a lot of families..

Uh, you don't have to fly to get to HS, AK or Epcot. Just hop a Disney bus, boat or monorail....maybe I don't understand your post.

OMG - Sugar Rush is a fantastic idea - I never thought of that!

Thought Cars would be the best, but I can totally see Sugar Rush, especially since it's right by Alice as well as Tomorrowland. Hence: Video games and CANDY! Sign me up, I'm ready to rush!

They were referring to other parks as Epcot, HS, and AK. Focusing on adding more attractions in those to bring in more guests instead of only focusing on MK.

Spread out the new attractions/updates, spread out the crowds

By the time you re-theme it and spend all that money they might as well tear it down and do something new altogether. I'd love to see a Cars themed ride/experience but I like to see the nostalgic rides still around. Something special about those stinky cars that give you whiplash.

Since Radiator Springs Racers (and Cars Land) is such a huge deal in CA, I can't imagine them just re-theming the Speedway to Cars.

Sugar Rush would be fantastic!

Sugar Rush is a fantastic idea! Maybe move the entrance so it's in Fantasyland instead of Tomorrowland.
