Why no WBTA?

So excited to see the new releases but why no WBTA? That is what we really want. Do we wait or go for one of the other med cruises? Our TA is in Hawaii for the next 2 weeks so no help there!

The dates released so far are consistent with the rumors of an extended dry dock in Venice. We also know that the Magic has port reservations in Gibraltar and Madeira in October, 2013.

Perhaps a big announcement later of the "refurbished" or "new and improved" or whatever Magic after dry dock? This also allows DCL to maintain flexibility for the rest of 2013.

Here. It's in our flier.

14-Night Panama Canal Cruise 2013 Sail Date: 5/6
Monday Miami, FL
Tuesday Disney’s Castaway Cay
Wednesday At Sea
Thursday At Sea
Friday Cartagena, Colombia
Saturday At Sea
Sunday Panama Canal
Monday At Sea
Tuesday At Sea
Wednesday At Sea
Thursday At Sea
Friday Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
Saturday Cabo San Lucas, Mexico
Sunday At Sea
Monday Los Angeles, CA

I was really looking forward to a WBTA but now dont know if I should wait and see an announcement or go ahead and do a panama canal cruise...they make us wait and then dont give full dates

LOL Guess I should wait for my brain to wake up before I post. Could have sworn that said WBPC. Anyway, yeah, it should sail on 9/7 whenever they decide to release the rest of 2013.

OP was referring to the Westbound TransAtlantic from the Med.

I asked my TA but she said they have not included nor mentioned that itinerary in their release.

Disney will eventually do a WBTA, so if that's what you want, sit tight til they get around to announcing it. Or you could make a refundable deposit on a different cruise.

Interesting that the Panama Canal cruise includes Cartegna but not Aruba or Costa Rica like they did last time. Aruba was a yawner, and Costa Rica was surprisingly filthy (for all their talk of ecology there were piles of garbage all along both sides of the highway -- really sad!) so maybe DCL got lots of negative feedback about those two ports.

October would be a GREAT time to have a WBTA...fingers crossed for a 14 day celebration of my birthday onboard! :woohoo: Come on, Disney, make me happy!!! :dance3:

I (along with many others) have emailed Karl Holz asking the very same question....

Why? :confused3 I don't think DCL has to give us every detail right now. Obviously there is some other planning going on. When they have all those plans together they will make an announcement.

I don't get demanding information.

I noticed that they did not give itineraries for either the Magic or Wonder past the end of August (Sept 2nd for the Wonder).

They are obviously going to make us wait F O R E V E R !!!!!

By the way up in the Meets section, there is a whole cruise thread with over 100 people who want to be on that cruise. Come join us for the "cruise they just haven't announced yet but we are going on any way"!

If the board wasn't so darned slow, I'd post the link...

And I think you are making assumptions. Who said I demanded information? :confused3

Then why email if not seeking information that DCL is obviously not ready to release at this time?

I'm always amazed at the reactions when DCL makes its itinerary announcements.

Good things come to those who wait. ;)

And why not.

Glad you want to wait and are amazed. That's you and you are welcome to feel that way. I prefer to ask (which I did politely)

I don't see a repo cruise from LA to Vancouver or am I just missing it ?

I just glanced over the schedules, but it appeared to me that they were moving the Wonder from LA to Miami for a while, then from Miami to Vancouver. So IIRC, there's no LA-Vancouver because it will be out of Miami in between the two.
