Why no toll-free number for Disney????

Why is it that the biggest theme park/resort in the world does not have a toll free number to call for reservations? I don't get it, you have to dial long distance to reach them. Or am I totally blind and just don't see a toll free number.

I've often wondererd the same thing. There is a tollfree number out there somewhere, but they sure don't advertise it. My best guess is that it decreases the number of people who call before they are ready to book a room and are just calling to get rates. I imagine that there would be people calling every day to see if a code has come out or a cancellation has occurred for their desired resort.

I agree since I was on the phone the other nite with them setting up some plans for our Grand Gathering for over an hour! Luckily I have a national plan with my cell phone! But with the way their computers run you never have a call with them less than 30mins!

The menus at either number will connect you to whatever you need for WDW. You don't see the numbers anywhere for obvious reasons, the biggest being $$$$$$

Due to the cost. People and kids would be calling wanting to speak to Mickey Mouse. Also marketing research has proven that people will stay on the line with the agent much longer just wanting to chat. Disney recieves hundreds of phone calls every minute therefore they want a system that encourages people to be brief. So there is no published toll free number. And of course that cost would have been passed on to us the customer.
