Why no discount for Dining Plan for DVC members??

The Post that gets me is I want to rent xxxxx and pay $10.00 per point and I want free dining. How about that one? I am a new owner too and that one is terrible. I realize some of it is they don't understand but give the DELUXE room away and feed me for free. Sorry, I just had to vent. The op didn't bother me. I am excited that disney is offering the plan to us in the first place. I have always used a AP discount on our rooms so I have never been able to use the DDP. In 2 weeks we will get our first chance! :tink: :tink: :tink:

I would never expect Disney to give us discounted or free dining. I think that $37.99 is a bargain for what you get. Plus, I think that's more of an incentive to get people to go and stay onsite. Disney knows we'll be back for the next 35 or 40 years. ;)

I bought into DVC before we even knew of the discounts. In my opinion anything they offer in the way of perks or discounts is much appreciated!!!

Gee, I never thought I would get such harsh responses from you guys. It was just a question that I had. Now I understand the reasoning a little better, but I guess Ill keep my questions to myself next time.

DOn't worry Tara, you and i are in the same boat...I asked the same question a few weeks ago and i felt i got bit too!!! See here...my thread

Some people just more bolder than others!! But granted, i understand much better though and yea, we do have good perks!!! ;)

Sorry if you feel "jumped on". This is kind of a sensitive subject for DVC members. It took well over a year of members requesting the dining plan for DVC to finally get it for us. We are glad that they could get it without a ticket requirement and at the same price, considering that WDW resorts require a rack rate room which helps support the cost.

Some of us are also afraid that, since no perks are guarenteed, if DVC hears too much complaining about the perks they do give us, they may decide that it isn't worth offering them - or if the perks we have are abused, they will be pulled. i.e. don't look a gift horse in the mouth.

We also like to be smug with each other when we are agreeing on conversations we've already had....
