I'm thinking about switching resorts for our December trip, so I went to tripadvisor.com to do a little research and read some recent reviews. Anyway, while doing my research, I noticed that the WL is rated as a 3-star hotel/resort, whereas AKL is rated as a 4-star hotel/resort. To me, both resorts are very similar in everything (amenities & services), so I'm curious about why AKL has a higher rating?:confused3

Maybe AKL is considered 4 star because of the uniqueness of having the savannahs with exotic animals?

Who assigned the stars? You need to look at the criteria used to determine the number of stars assigned to a resort. AAA, at least I think, may rate similar hotels differently based in part on age. I know AKL is newer than WL, so maybe that has something to do with it.

If you notice on TripAdvisor's website, it also states this about WL and AKL--
1. AKL is ranked # 26 of 292 Hotels in Orlando
and DID NOT receive any awards by TripAdvisor.
2. WL is ranked #15 of 292 Hotels in Orlando & received the 2008 Travelers Choice Award on their site.

I have no experience at either resort, but this influenced my decision in regards to which resort to try first this year-- 11/30- 12/07/08. Yippee !!
:santa: :santa: :santa:

I hope this helps you a bit. :)
