Why is the lighting so bad in the A&E meet and greet?

Looking at all my PhotoPass pics and the lighting is so awful in all the A&E meet and greet pics. Our inside character pics from Epcot (character spot) and AK (Mickey and Minnie) are 1000x better, and all our outdoor pics (at least the daytime ones) are great.

Did we just get unlucky or are they all like that? I'm surprised that such a popular duo would have bad lighting.

As great as Disney is at making very photogenic character costumes ..... Interior meet and greet lighting seems to be the result of an interior designer vs a stage designer.

That combined with Photopass photographer being mandated to use basic, generic settings .... And it's not really pro photo quality.

I still can't believe Mickey in town hall was designed with such poor color balance.

I haven't seen Ana and Elsa, but the lighting was really bad when my niece met aurora a couple of years ago. :(

It's all bad lighting at fairytale hall!

Yep, that. The lighting was bad in Town Square and it is at Fairytale Hall as well.

A cynical sort might think they want the photos on phones and low end cameras to come out poorly so you have to buy theirs. ;)

I've always noticed that the lighting in all of the Anna and Elsa pictures I've seen looks awful too. Weird.

Ever since they opened Fairytale hall, our photopass Princess pictures have been mostly awful due to the lighting in there. I can't believe they have never fixed it. The lighting was so much better back when the princesses met in Toontown. Our Anna and Elsa pictures in there last year were awful- and most of the photopass ones from that visit were blurry on top of the lighting issue.

It doesn't matter how bad their lighting is. They should have the correct settings on their cameras to compensate for that.

I'm guessing it was a tech issue, but the photographer's flash didn't even fire when we met Rapunzel in June.

Strange because the lighting on the Disney Magic was awful too. All the pictures (even those taken by the CM photographer) we not good.

That's the problem, Photopass doesnt encourage or allow true photographic skill, instead, they tell CM's to use specific settings.

I suppose if they set a custom white balance, then it would be wrong for the next person using that camera on Main St.

We had that problem at A&E, CRT & BOG. The Beast was our most anticipated photo op, since we've never met him, and the pictures are so dark!

All of our outdoor PP pics are awesome, and our Epcot and AK indoor character pics are great. It was A & E this trip and talking Mickey last trip. I would not have been happy if I waited for a long time to meet them and then wound up with those awful pics.

The lights are very bad in there. Makes everyone look orange too. I have to do heavy editing to my pics, and I use a professional camera I know how to use!
