Does anyone know why the Contemporary is sold out for the week of 11/11. Most of the other hotels have something available, but the whole hotel is sold out for every day that week. Is something happening at the hotel?

I think it's just gotten more popular. Several weeks ago, I was trying to book it for the week before 11/11 (11/2-11/9) and it was sold out. It was the only deluxe sold out at that point.

It is the cheapest of the monorail resorts and is the only one that offers the ability to WALK to the MK. With Star Wars Land open, crowds will be very heavy and resorts may be at full capacity at any point. November is a popular time to travel now.

Calling won’t make a difference right? They have the same inventory as online? I’m bummed I really want to stay there. I guess I can just keep checking if it becomes available

I called and the inventory is the same as it's presented on line.

I was told by a CM that as you get to the 30 day mark before your trip, to check back as that's when cancellations or changes most often happen.

I went the same week last year, and noticed that rooms at CR would pop up now and again. Just keep checking, especially closer to the date.

Thank you for calling! I’ll be checking back often to see if something becomes available.

Disney's Contemporary Resort includes convention facilities. It's possible that the resort is hosting a meeting that also has a large block of rooms.

Unfortunately, there's no real way to know if that's the reason. Group room blocks aren't made public. And at least when I worked there, agents at the Disney Reservations Center didn't have access to that information, either.

But if I had to guess, I'd say that's the reason why it's one of the only resorts that is unavailable.

That does make sense. Do you know when those room blocks are released back to the public?

I don't think it is just due to conventions. I think it is due to (1) Veteran's day weekend--people see that it is a 4-day school week, so better to pull the kids out then than another week when they will miss 5 days (2) Lifting of the horrendous 6am extra early morning magic hours the week prior which a lot of people rescheduled their september and october trips to avoid when it was announced; and (3) it is first week the popular Christmas parties are offered.

We are going on a cruise/parks trip that week, and I definitely noticed that hotel inventory is MUCH more limited than the following week so it is not just the Contemporary.

The hotels did have a lot booked, but the Contemporary is the only hotel completely sold out every day that week. I ended up booking at the Boardwalk to have something and will keep checking to see if anything opens up there.

Agreed. Yacht Club is also a convention hotel, and in the past I've noticed early sell-outs there, as well.

OP, some travel agencies rent blocks of resort rooms at convention rates and then offer them to clients. You could also try looking into that.

OP, I thought you posted that you are a Travel Agent. Wouldn’t you know better than we would?

I never said I was a travel agent? I’m not. I started a travel blog a little while ago but it’s just about my trips I’ve taken. I don’t have any insider information

Don't know about that specific week but there is a convention that has rooms blocked until Nov, 10 starting on Oct. 31. The actual convention runs Nov. 4-6. Remember the Contemporary is a major convention hotel.

Also Nov. 11 is Veterans day and that is often a busy week right after Jersey week and the Marathon the week before.

I guess it’s possible lots of the convention people extended their trips to that week. We were married on 11/11 at Disney so this is a first anniversary trip. I always forget about there being a holiday then since we don’t have work off for it but lots of others do.

I’m trying to accept my Boardwalk room in case I can’t switch

Last time we stayed there, two conventions were there too. The place was crawling with people with name tags.
