Why is the 4/3 not saving me any money?

Im booked this next week on the regular prices. However, I just looked to book a trip over spring break and the cost is the same as this trip is costing. Pop, DDP, Park Hopper included. I thought it would bring a substantial saving. Did I do something wrong?

Its all in the timing.. The different seasons have different prices.

Spring Break (depending on the dates) for us is Peak/Holiday pricing. So we are getting a substantial savings using the 4/3 deal, but it's not a better price than if we chose to travel in the off-season. If you look at the full price for a room the weeks before & after Easter, you'll see a huge difference in price between those days and January.

Did you book via the 4/3 link or go in through the normal system to check your rates? What dates, how many adults/children and how much did you come up with if you don't mind me asking.

I did Pop with 1 A 3 K and it was 2100 or thereabouts. with hoppers and DDP

It seems that I booked it half in the dates and half out so I didnt get the discount.

I think I am going to book for October and hope to get a pin code (although I still dont know how to get one) or Free dining (which would be awesome, but for some reason, cant figure out how to get in on that deal either)

Yeah that will do it, you need to have all the dates within the offer window.

Getting a pin code is a matter of luck. No one seems to know how or why people get chosen for them. But you do need to have let disney know you exist. Register on their web site, ask for the vacation dvd, click the boxes that say you are interested in getting offers. These things may up your chances.
As for free dining, it is ususally a timing issue, if you are willing to go during the times that disney offers free dining, then you can get it. If you can go in Sept, the chances of having free dining offered is fairly good.

If this is for the weeks around Easter, that does include the discount. The normal rate at Pop is $135 a night, or about $152 with tax. 4 Day Hopper Tickets run about $286 adult, $249 kids, including tax. The dining plan for 2009 is approx. $40 for adults per day (no discount offered with 7 for 4), and $11 a day for kids (no discount)
Room 4X$152 = $608
tickets 1X$286 = $286
3X$249 = $747
Dining 7X$40 = $280
3x7x11 = $231
Total = $2152 give of take a few dollars
for rounding off.

Oh and I forgot to mention free dining has been announced in the beginning of April in the past, so I plan on watching the resorts discount board and Mousesavers religously starting the end of March.
