Why is my waitlist taking so dang long?

Are my chances not good? I am waitlisted for one night, Nov. 5, for a studio at BLT. I have been checking everyday since April 4. I am so impatient!

Don't feel left out - mine hasn't come through yet either. I'm waiting on a 2 bdr at VBR in July - we have 2 OVIR's booked though. I keep checking but I'm trying to let it go a little and just be ok with it.

I had a waitlist for a two bedroom at SSR a few years ago that never came through.

I'm waiting for one night, May 24th, Savannah view Kidani, and have been waiting since the beginning of January. My DF's have a standard view Kidani but the other 2 villas that I have are already Savannah view, so I wanted my DF's to enjoy a nice view too. I'm hoping the closer we get to April 24th, the chances will be better for them!

Not trying to be a downer - just realistic, but your waitlist may not come through. We've had several occasions where it didn't. With the growing number of new members, the more difficult some places are bound to be.

Waitlist always seem to take forever (even if they come through quickly), the good news is that once they come through, it is all forgotten.

As the newest resort, BLT, is probably a top favorite right now, but MS has been saying that there is a higher cancellation rate right now than ever before. Closer to the the 30 day deadline you may have better luck. My waitlist for BWV (Boardwalk View) for June 11th just came through. There's still hope!

I've been waiting for mine to come through...2 bedroom and BCV's in June. I'm really not counting on it and have the Hyatt at MCO booked.

I have been waiting since Feb. for 1 bedroom Dec. 6-8 if I don't get it by May 1 I am going to call MS and book another resort. I hoping for AKL.

DW and I have had almost instand success with our waitlist requests at Christmas time, and have also not had any luck at other times of the year.

We are waitlisted for Aug 1-5 at BCV and Boardwalk for the first half of our trip.....I check the web site every day ....still nothing I also call...still no luck I am holding out hope though!

It's very likely one night will come through. There are units that are not yet declared and there will be movement over time, I would not worry. I'd book a back up jut in case though.

yea DVD is still declaring units into DVC - so you have a good chance - but would definitely have a back up.

although one of the press releases say all the units were open for DVC and disney to rent - it doesn't seem to work that way.

Good luck on your waitlist! You would think you could snatch up one night!! I hope mine comes through too! I want one night at BLT (Magic Kingdom View studio) on 9/19 after our cruise! If it doesn't come open, that's ok too. We reserved a savannah view studio at AKV in Kidani village!

This is going to be a tough one. My best guess is that you will either get it just before the 30 day mark or not at all. Good that you have a back up plan in place.

For those who may not know, 11/5/2009 is the first day of the 2009 New Jersey Teachers' Convention. As the OP undoubtedly knows, that entire week is very popular due to the number of NJ DVC families who visit WDW at that time. She is competing with those NJ members who booked the entire week as well as those who choose to begin their trips on either Wednesday or Thursday.

Waitlist experiences for other weeks of the year really do not apply to Jersey Week.

But there is always hope - November is still 7 months away. Good luck, Nikki - hope it works out for you.

Don't lose hope yet. We usually go Jersey week and often have to waitlist for BWV points. Only one year did a waitlist not come through and it was just for one night. it seems like if the waitlists didn't clear somewhere just inside the 7 month time frame, they usually did by mid-summer. Make sure you have alternate arrangements in case...but it is definitely too early to dispare !

I have been waitlisting since mid-January for just one night, May 24th, for a studio at VWL. I thought my chances would have been pretty good, but now only a couple of days remain until the 31 day mark.
