I thought January was a low season to travel to Orlando. I just looked up airfare from Buffalo to Orlando on or around January 24th. I am looking to use Jetblue since I have an almost $600 credit w/ them. For the life of me I can't figure out why the flights are all over $300 each way. There is nothing going on then????? I looked last week and was able to travel around President's Day for $99 each way-- so anyone know what gives w/ these fares?

I'm not sure but the fuel prices are definitely factoring in. Plus the fact that airlines are waiting longer to release discounted fares is part of it as well. When we went in Jan'04, we bought our tickets in Jul'03 for a little less than $130 (with taxes) NS/RT out of ROC. Right now we are looking at about $220-250 for those same flights & the flight times kind of stink.

Hoping that we'll see some good discounted rates that extend into January released sometime soon! :)

Well, Jetblue's most recent sale hit November and December (something like the first 2 weeks). I'm sure they'll skip right over the Christmas and New Year holiday so I'll hope they show some decrease for January.

I know just a few days ago I check some days in February that were showing $99. Last night they were showing over $300 now too. The fares seemed to go up when the big fall clearance sale started.
