Why is Howard Johnson hotel ...

showing up as unavailable for the first week of August 2022? HoJo, along with some others show up with the message "This resort is unavailable for the dates, party size or offer selected." There's 5 of us, but my DS won't be 3 yet. I only typed in 4 of us for the reservation. I take it these resorts don't except reservations for that time until a later date?

Not sure which specific dates you were looking for, but I did find availability for the 1st-6th:

If you have a weekend date, it's possible the weekend is fully booked.

If you are using rewards program points, you may have to wait until closer to the date. I use Choice rewards and I can only book 4 months out with those.

Ah, that makes sense. I don't know how far out they go on booking good neighbor hotels. I saw another thread asking about it, but no real info. Also did a search for late January when it's probably not busy and got the same message as you.

After searching google for a bit, I came across this new promotion for 2022:

However, Howard Johnson isn't listed on here. Wonder if it's just something they'll slowly add availability for so as not to overwhelm their systems.
