Why is Entertainment book still showing all hotels for discounts?

:confused3 :confused3 Okay, haven't been to US for a few years. Always used the Entertainment rate and was totally astonished that today when I found out they do not honor this card anymore.

Went online and the rate is the same as it was quoted with a CS person at US.

How can they list it in their book if there is no discount?

Last time I went to HRH it was $169 per nite.
Now for the same room I am quoted $459 per nite

I am flabbergasted :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

Apparently, you have to book through the Entertainment book to get their rate, not through Universal or Loews.

The $169 rate is often still available if you go during value season. Try using AAA.

3 years ago when no coupons available thru the ent book, they started the best rate guaranteed program.

you have to book thru them and for this year it only allows rph in the system.

it states discounts UP TO 20%.

i checked into it when it started but received a better, deeper discount with AAA.
also, you have to prepay the stay with a cc when you book.

it was no advantage to me and you lose the loews welcome gift and points on your card to move up a status.

the rebate they offer is not enough to entice me to use it.
for each up to 2 night stay it is a $10 rebate if you book by phone or $20 if you book online thru their program.
when your trip is over, you have to complete the form in the ent book and mail it off with receipts to prove your stay. then, once it is processed, you receive the rebate as a credit on the credit card you used to book with.

yes, long ago are the days of $99 at rph and $112 at hrh with the entertainment book coupon.........heavy sigh.

i'd be the first in line to use it if the coupons came back at those deep discounted rates of under $112 a night !!
but, alas, time goes on and we will never see those days again. not even with the best rate guarantee program.

the only discounts i find these days are the special promos to the universal master card holders, the pap and aaa card members.
