Why is Disneyworld such a haven for judgemental people?

I love the accents and languages I hear at DW. I don't listen to overhear however. Occasionally I'll hear something funny said like the time I heard a woman tell her family "I don't care what anyone told you, Tinkerbell IS real and I shall prove it!" This was said with a rather upper crust British accent. I'm guessing she proved it by showing them Tinkerbell flying from the castle!

Okay so my secret fetish is out. No stranger than Zurg's shoe thing though, is it?

I'm usually too busy to notice anything while trying carefully not to drive my stroller into someone's ankles-usually while someone is running into mine. :D

I go to WDW twice a year now...to see my son...to have some fun...

I accomplish both......

I do keep one eye open for DIS people and lime green..i haven't had much success...
in meeting any...BUT...I'm having so mch fun...i am not discouraged by my lack of success...

someday maybe...PrincessAriel & I will meet some of the good folks here...

I'm a people-watcher too.. ::yes:: However, I don't do it to judge people - I just LOVE watching people have a good time! There's nothing quite like a child seeing Disney World for the first time - surrounded by beaming parents and grandparents.. Ecstatically happy newlyweds with their feet barely touching the ground.. The elderly couple strolling down Main Street hand-in-hand, smiling coyly at each other.. Believe me, if you look in all the right places, you could get a mega overdose of LOVE in Disney World and that just makes me SOOOOOOO happy!!

I like to people watch. I don't like to people judge.

I LOVE to people watch while I'm at WDW but not to judge them. I look for folks with lime green anythings...I look for people who need to have their picture taken (you know, they take turns taking pictures of each other in front of the castle - I volunteer to take pictures of them both or all)...I look for people who are having fun and if I am next to them I'll talk with them...I look for happy cm's and try to talk with them...

I am on vacation and I try to let it alllllllll slide right off my back. Grumpy cm? Give them a smile! Grumpy tourist? Give them some room. Grumpy children? Take them back to the resort for a swim.

Life is too short folks to be so judgemental...

Ahhhhhhh yeah, I guess I do watch people too. I keep an eye out for similar things, someone grumpy, give 'em a smile or a compliment. Yep yep yep.....nice to notice if someone is having an off day...and even nicer if you can have a positive impact on someone's not-so-good day!

aahhh...but that is quite different--that is called spreading the Magic! One of the most fun parts about going, I think!

For dd----> :bounce: :p

1 Who is using a refillable mug and how old it is
2 How many people are in the room next to me as long as I
can't hear them
3 How overweight, underweight, tall, short or hairy anyone is

Things I do care about:

1 Having fun with my Dh and kids

As long as someone is not infringing on my rights by cutting in front of me or screaming through my dinner I really don't give a rat's behind what they look like or what they're doing.

ITA!::yes::
I can't think of anything else to add!

When you judge someone it says nothing about the person but speaks volumes about YOU....

Wow... it's so blatantly hypocritical that it's absurd!

Well being a single guy.....
Of course I'm a people watcher especially of those of the female persuasion;)

Oh yes!!! The most fun is watching and listening when people try BEVERLY for the first time!!!!

OMG Beauty! You are Sooo funny!!!:p My oldest son and I love to go to the world of Coke just to watch people sample BEVERLY!!!:p :p

Thought I would add that there is a thread on the CM that complains about short people!!!! Judgemental at WDW, how about judgemental on the DISboards!!:(

I knew about Beverly first and made DH try it--LOL!
I do read T shirts as well, and must admit I am shocked at some--but I teach HS and have a dress code to enforce so that is a habit I have fallen into. There are also some really funny ones!
The only time I wanted to pummel someone was last December when we were taking our traditional picture of the kids in front of the wooden indian on Main St. and a family walked right in front of them as I took it--the dad was saying "come on, come on, keep going!" and went on even though he saw us--DH saw my face with the "storm clouds" coming and just said "they must not have the magic yet!" That stopped it and I was again a happy camper!

I think the OP was being sarcastic

OK, I'll admit it - I people watch and some of it is judgemental.

I will usually take 15 minutes or so out of my day at Epcot (while eating a Kaki Gori) to identify the woman wearing the most ridiculous-looking shoes. It's become a sport with me. (My feet are tired wearing New Balance sneakers - how in the world can some women totter around on 3 inch stiletto heels on a 95 degree day?!)

I also can't help but notice the people who are being exceptionally mean to their children - or vice versa - the ones who are being exceptionally nice to their children. Thank goodness the nice ones far outweigh the mean ones.

Don't even get me started on some of the outfits teen girls and women who still think they're teen girls wear in the parks. Whether you've got the figure for it or not, I really don't care to have that much of a look at your private parts. I wish there was some sort of enforceable dress code in the parks!

Yep, guess all of this makes me judgemental.

I hope so because I posted on the thread!!! I always keep a look-out for lime green when I am at Disney, but other than keeping my 2 kids under my watchful eye I really don't have time to worry about what others are doing.

People?? There are other people in the parks when I go to Disney World???? Gee...the only time I remember actually seeing another person in the park was in MGM...I was looking for a TALL man with a white bucket hat who I had been playing phone tag with all that morning! :teeth:

I absolutely people watch and listen. It's half of the fun of being there. If I want to ignore everyone around me, I may as well stay here. I don't have kids, so I indulge in other people's children's delighted looks. And as much as I adore my family, five or more days spent focusing only on ourselves would certainly turn us into the obnoxious freaks everyone's complaining about. ;)
