Why Is Disneyland California Mostly Ignored By UK & Irish??

I have regular arguments with people who are going to Disneyland. They ALL know the name but they always mean Disneyworld. "You mean there's another one? Why fly further if there's one in Florida?

I get this way when people call Disneyland Paris, Euro Disney. Although I give them a bit of slack as the park actually used to be called that.

But yes people who refer to Disney world as Disneyland can get a bit annoying.
