Personally, I like the whole thing kept shut when not in use but if it were a male I would imagine they would leave it up so they wouldn't have to mess with it the next time they have to go.

LOL, I've always wondered the same thing. I hear people talk about falling in and I always think, why didn't you look first? Not only could you fall in but who knows what might be on that seat.

LOL, no joke. I think the first time I sat in gum I always made it a point afterwords to look at where I place my buns.


Back in high school I worked at a grocery store & one of my usual duties was cleaning up the bathrooms. A couple times when I was in a particularly naughty mood I left all the seats up in the ladies room, just to have a couple go "what the...?!"

In the middle of the night, I don't turn on the light to go potty (I'm familiar with my equipment by now ). I think my ds or my SO leave the seat up just to hear me not so gently SCREAM.

At work, they clean the potties around midday, and everytime they do that, they leave the seat up. I think I've wandered in the wrong bathroom when I go in there and see the seat up. Then after about 2 seconds, I just don't care if I'm in the ladies or men's room. But I do remember to put the lid down.

Nutsy, maybe that's why they do it. They think it's a throne and they want to be crowned.

Ok, I can understand that its dark in the bathroom, but imagine if your ds or SO would just wander in the bathroom and just 'go' because they assume the seat is up? They check to make sure the seat is up if it's dark, why can't you check to see if the seat is up also? The seat is either in one place or another, and you can check it before you sit....

Of course, my DW would disagree and brain me if I left the seat up, but it makes me wonder sometimes.

I remember one day in college I made a mistake...
On the lower floor all the men's rooms are on the right, ladies on the left. Well one day I was on the upper floor...apparently it's the opposite on the top floor. I walked in & didn't see any urinals, which I thought was wierd, but it didn't click. Someone else came in & I was going - very obviously not sitting. When I walked out I saw some people looking at me with shocked looks - I looked at the sign, realized my mistake & couldn't leave school fast enough for the day.

Jeff, are you positive that was a mistake? I used to have a friend that went into the ladies room at a burger king on accident and two girls came in while he was in the stall. LOL He waited awhile after they were gone before he left. I go in the men's room at work all the time. There are more women where I work and the ladies room is always full. The men's room seat is always down too... I think they must all use the urinal.

Men go potty in the middle of the night? Of the 4 of us that live here, the other 3 knows I'm not the most coordinated person in the world, and not very awake when I'm sleepy. BTW, my dd screams just as loudly as I do if the seat is left up.

Seats should always be down.
