I disagree with their thinking, but I am pretty sure I know what that thinking is. The "tallyw" part is also the beginning of a slang word that can mean "a stick used to count bunches of bananas as they were loaded on banana boats" or can be used to mean an impolite reference to a body part.

Well, welcome to Dis and sorry about the title change. Quite a few we know here have been through it. Some of them had their titles months or a year before they got the bad news. It always seems to work out.

It may seem like a stretch, but vmk is picking up the "strict" level on names used in vmk considering names are something we can say when they are in the same room.

I know of a few people who had to change their name because it included "skittles". It may seem like a candy to some, but to others it means something entirely different.

I didn't even think twice of your name being inappropriate until I heard first mention of it.

It your name was already accepted, they should not take it away.

The thing is there is no double entrendre. Where does it end? What are they going to rename Peter Pan? There are a lot of words that are in compound words (think sports) that contain body part slang.

At least I managed to pick something I like. My husband was more outrages than I was. Bet whoever kicked it is probably in charge of writing the company dress code too!

If Tallywally is so offensive due to the possible link to a slang word, then "trade" needs to be removed too. "Trade" itself, not some word that could look like the word trade, is used as the name of a very explicit and specific sexual act. It gives a whole new meaning to "Trade Room". Which is worse, possible inuendo or a word that is more inappropriate to VMK than "beach" when used in the wrong context?

FYI, the tally word is used within the Future Farmers of America (FFA) organization. If the zipper tab of a person's jacket is sticking out when they are in official dress, you tell them to "tuck in your tally..."
