Why I love the Dining Plan

I am a picky eater and in the real world I am usually hesitant to try new things. I have been known to order something at a restaurant and then keep eating the same thing every time I go for years.

I am trying to break out of that.

Two years ago we did Free Dining, back in the good old days when the appetizer was still included. I found that I felt a lot more free in picking my selections because even if I didn't like a appetizer, I would still have the entree. There was so much food that even if I made a mistake and ordered something I didn't enjoy I would not be hungry. I took some chances and I was pleasantly surprised a few times.

Last year we were there during the Food and Wine Festival and I used most of my snack credits to try some of the different foods and I really enjoyed it. Again, no risk because if I hated it and tossed it after the first bite it was just a snack credit.

This year it's free dining again, no appetizer but we are going during the Food and Wine Festival. We are trying new restaurants we have never tried with the same feeling, if we don't like it, not a big deal there are many, many more meals.

I think it really frees us a little.

In the real world if I spend 38.00 for an entree and don't like it I really feel bad. On free dining I can just go get a Mickey Bar!

I am pretty excited about trying new things!

I am with you ....

I like the dining plan overall!

There are definately things that if I could control, I would change....but
For us even in its current state it is a value!

Eat, Drink, Trade Pins, & Live the Magic!

:cool1: :hippie: We probably would have never tried all of the different and unique TS restaurants if we were not on the DDP and made all the ADR's in advance.

I think its great your adventuring out. About 8 years ago, my idea of dining was Taco Bell, then I met my partner and from day one, he pushed me to try new things, see a better side of the world.

Now, I'd try anything, I've had some really interesting food and love to give chefs free will to impress me. Sure there are some foods I have tried I don't care for, but at least I can say I treid them.

My DW does a great job of planning and scheduling our Disney Dining. I definitely would not have chosen many of the places we have eaten without her guidance.
