Why does the taken thing make ppl so upset?

Hi, just wondering why this taken thing has ppl so upset. And the family thing. If it's not for you then why care what other's do? I mean there are SO SO MANY other things in VMK to be upset about. LIKE: Why does it take so long to load anything? Why do we get dis-connected ALL the time or the infamous VMK has crashed? Why are there not better clothes for guys? Why do we get dis-connected SO MUCH? Why can't we have punctuation in our messages? How come we can't type normal instead of (go go Go Go for ex.)? Why can't we be on VMK without ANYONE knowing we are there? Why can't we keep EVERYONE out of our rooms until we are ready for them (makes fixing rooms that much easier instead of the room description being - Narnia Room - plz stay out!)? How come you have to come in 2nd place to win Fireworks? What is that about? So as you see, there are plenty of things to be upset about than the taken or the family thing. At least those issues give the kids experience with dealing with relationships. Hopefully learning from their mistakes. If any comments please do, I welcome all advice. Hey maybe we could create a petition for VMK. I know there are STAFF members here. Ok then this apple is out!

the taken thing is really wrong you see, so is the family thing. It is the MOST bad thing to do on vmk and lots of people seem to do it. It makes others feel uncomfortable and if we just stopped people would have a much better time in the kingdom. I mean face it, if u were 11 for example and a 40 year old guy came up to you in the street and asked you out what would you say??? NO OF COURSE!!! so why do it in vmk? you dont know who your really talking to. DONT TRUST ANYONE EITHER unless you know them in real life or something but still be careful.

I can imagine everyone having a great time on VMK until some "dumbo's" come and mess it up with that stuff.But we cant fix it now.It is too late.As for all the other problems,real people made this game and they can do whatever they want with it.You chose to play it and it is a free game so why cry?They made it and gave you a chance to play.Every system has turns and falls but you never know which direction the game is going to go.

Let me tell you about the Malcolm Effect.Ok,if a drop of water represents the game,then if you drop it on somebody's fist which way will it go to fall off?That shows if the game will go in a good path or a bad path.

Yes, It may seem like harmless play. But there are many underlying problems that come up with it. Especially when it get carried too far.

One thing that annoys me about Taken is all the random people coming up to me and asking if I'm taken, if though it syas I'm against in my sig. Another thing really wrong about Taken is the fact that you're pretty much Pretending to be in love with someone that you only know by the screen name, in other words, they're complete strangers! The familiy thing is also annoying. I have a friend who has a bay be, (She doesn't want to, but her bay be is her friend) and the bay be is always complaining and asking to borrow clothes and yelling to be dropped off at a day care. -_- That's my example.
Overall, it all is a stupid stupid stupid idea!

Well people say taken is against vmk values. It isn't, so I see no reason to hate it, although I -am- against it. Now the 'bay be' and 'mummy and duh duh' stuff, that's another story.

Maybe it is not technially against the rules but that doesn't mean we can just relax and ignore it...the ones who "do taken" don't make it easy to live and let live.

Just today I watched a conversation where a girl asked a boy if he was taken. The boy was trying to be polite and answered that he didn't do taken. The girl kept at it and then wanted to be his friend, then his "best" friend. He politely replied that his friends list was full but then she wanted him to kick someone else off and add her. All off this went on even though his signature said he didn't do taken. This illustrates one reason why the taken thing can be so annoying.

You shouldn't have to keep hitting the ignore button to be able to enjoy the game.

I agree with appletini, there are plenty of other things with vmk that are very annoying. The taken thing in particular doesn't upset me all that much, it's annoying just like all the other things we dislike with vmk.

What I am wondering is, why is VMK still letting people do the taken thing? if its getting really bad then what's the point of keeping it? I see girls fighting over boys and begging boys to be theres... its creepy I mean girls wouldn't do that in real life just go up to a boy and say " Please be my boy Please be my boy please please please!"
Two girls would not go up and say " be my boy" " he is mine" "no he is mine" " mine!" "Mine!" . Now the Family stuff is just WRONG!People pretend to change babies diapers and send them to KINDERGARDEN! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! Its so scary I went and observed the kinder garden rooms and its not very pretty, this guest said " I was sitting in that seat then got dc can I sit there please?" and these girls kept fighting and fighting.... and they pretended to pass out papers and the kids were like " tank yoo " I really dont understand why ppl would want to do this.

It is just strange. It bugs people because it gets annoying when people fight over other people or come up to you and are all like " are you taken" even if you have something in your signature!!

This taken thing has gone too far, ppl getting so upset over each other. For goodness sakes, this is vmk - not real life. AND if you think it is, then more is the pity. This is why my signature states I am taken by "Ned", oh please ppl get a life.

My problem with it stems from the fact that you do NOT know who lurks
behind the tiny avatar. Is that player 14 years old or 40?

If it's the latter, that skeezes me out to the extreme to think young girls
might be asking grown men to be their "boi".
