Why does Flight of Passage always make me cry? ~ An 11 day August/24 Disney extravaganza! complete 01/25 + new TR link

My phone pinged right away with a room ready notification but sadly it was a studio on the ground floor. I was SO disappointed as I am not comfortable in a ground floor room when travelling on my own.
That's smart. I wouldn't have thought of that, but so far (other than Europe) I haven't had to travel on my own.
He made a call, chatted for a bit, made another call and then told me he could offer me room 7506 on the outer side of the building.
That's perfect! I love being on the outside!
I wouldn't want to be in this room with any more than 2 people though.
I really don't want to be in a one bedroom with much more than 2 people. It's OK for a girl's weekend at the Grand, but for my stays in Florida, a third or fourth person might be tricky.
I would come to learn I actually had a direct view of the higher fireworks which was awesome!
Yes, I've been in a similar room!
I also really loved this cupboard for storing my bags and ears.
That's a lot of bags and ears!
The great thing about being on the 5th floor was that it is directly connected to the skybridge linking BLT to the Contemporary.
Yes, I remember having that floor and it was so convenient!
I was really hoping for a 6pm boarding group but they were gone in less than a second!
If this for Guardians that they do a 6PM BG? Why am I even asking? We have dinner reservations every night!
What a perfect and relaxing evening!
:goodvibes
Caroline and I are back together for another 4 fun filled days in the Disney bubble. At only 24 days out, here's the plans so far!

I'm so bummed that we are missing you two! We get to Disney about 24 hours after each of you get home!

All caught up on your trip report! I love how much fun you had on this trip, and it's been enjoyable seeing what great Disney outfits you chose for each day! Love, love the DAK one.
I'm so happy to hear the CM at Bay Lake was able to find you a room you would be more comfortable in.
Your December plans sound awesome. I dare say, I think all of us on the TR forum are very much looking forward to another bar crawl recap. :rotfl2:

I've found Disney's food is getting worse and the quantity seemed to be less. The Italian place on Boardwalk used to be so good and last time it was just so-so and not worth the price and time.
The servings at TS are definitely smaller and the prices are bananas!!
Sounds great!
I am so excited!
1000x worth it! I have to work Tuesday and I don’t get home until midnight!
I’m very excited for all things Disney Christmas and spending time with you!
We will both be tired but will have lots of great memories. So excited to see you!
I'm going to Jollywood on the 18th, flying home the next morning and hopefully at work for 1 pm.
Another one joining the tired at work club. But we will all be making the best memories!
That's smart. I wouldn't have thought of that, but so far (other than Europe) I haven't had to travel on my own.
I don't travel on my own a lot aside from Disney. I always prefer a higher floor room wherever I go.
I really don't want to be in a one bedroom with much more than 2 people. It's OK for a girl's weekend at the Grand, but for my stays in Florida, a third or fourth person might be tricky.
Sharing a washroom with several people is definitely tricky.
That's a lot of bags and ears!
Yes!! :goodvibes I love my bags and ears. So far I probably have about 25 pairs of ears, 8 Loungefly backpacks and about 20 Dooney and Bourke Disney bags.
If this for Guardians that they do a 6PM BG? Why am I even asking? We have dinner reservations every night!
You could still try for a BG, it's only on Monday nights for the extended hours.
I'm so bummed that we are missing you two! We get to Disney about 24 hours after each of you get home!
I know!!! I am so sad we will miss you. :(

Hopefully it won't be quite as crazy as last year, lol! I am so glad to see you here, Alicia! Glad you are here and enjoying the recap. I love reliving all my fun summer adventures through sharing them here. :)

A magical morning at MK!

There was no better way to start my day than with coffee on the balcony! I loved seeing the sun rise over Bay Lake.

IMG_6430.JPEG

The joy of staying at BLT was being a short 10 minute stroll to Magic Kingdom. Once I was ready I headed over arriving about 8:45. I noticed it was only a 5 minute wait for the Main Mouse so headed in there to start the day.
IMG_6432.JPEG

As I exited from seeing Mickey, I was happy to see Snow White in her garden with only a short wait. We had an awesome conversation as I told her I was going off to visit a group of Enchanted Birds in their special house. Snow was quite intrigued by this and wondered if
she could come along and we could have a picnic with them. It was a fabulous meet. :)

IMG_6431.JPEG
My next stop was the train station for a ride around MK. I stayed on past Main Street station for a 2nd time as I had a VQ for Tiana's Bayou Adventure. My verdict...I loved it! It was fresh and new, the animatronics were awesome and the music was great.
IMG_6434.JPEG
After Tiana I headed to the Enchanted Tiki Room. Of course I needed a small snack to enjoy during the show and went for my beloved Pinapple Upside Down Cake with Dole Whip. It sure hit the spot even though it melted quickly.

IMG_6436.JPEG

I had the fun of running into Big Al after this and had a chat and fun photoshoot with him This one is my favourite!
IMG_6446.JPEG
After this I decided to head off to BLT in favour of some pool time. A relaxing dip, some lounge chair reading/napping and snacks filled the next few hours. I didn't want to head to the parks this evening so chose to go to Disney Springs instead. But first a relaxing glass of wine on my balcony just because.
IMG_6460.JPEG
I decided upon Earl of Sandwich for dinner after perusing (and purchasing) some new pins at Pin Traders. The chicken Caesar wrap hit the spot perfectly.
IMG_6461.JPEG
I poked around Springs for a while; doing some window shopping, and listening to music. I decided to grab a drink at Starbucks before heading out to the bus and enjoying the moonlight views from the BLT beach.

IMG_6471.JPEG
Watching the Halloween party fireworks from my balcony rounded out another perfect Disney day.

I need to stay there, just for that.

That’s a great interaction with her. :)

Good!
I’ve been hearing about too many people not happy with it.
This one is my favourite!

Terrific shot. :)
But first a relaxing glass of wine on my balcony just because.
Best reason ever.
I decided upon Earl of Sandwich for dinner
Won’t do that in Disney since we have one here at home. But they are tasty sammies.

What a fun morning with all the characters and I also really loved Tiana’s Bayou attraction!
I love the pineapple upside down cake!

I need to stay there, just for that.
It's really great! I enjoyed Bay Lake Tower much more than I had anticipated. If I had extra money and any sense of certainty about stability in the US, I would totally buy another contract there.
That’s a great interaction with her. :)
It really was!
I’ve been hearing about too many people not happy with it.
It was past time for Splash to be reimagined. Having a storyline that was outdated and harmful was just not okay.
Best reason ever.
Right???
Won’t do that in Disney since we have one here at home. But they are tasty sammies.
I looked it up and saw that Earl of Sandwich is in Manitoba and BC! Now I am jealous! I want them to come to Ontario!
What a fun morning with all the characters and I also really loved Tiana’s Bayou attraction!
It was such a fun morning! :)
I love the pineapple upside down cake!
It's SO yummy!

There was no better way to start my day than with coffee on the balcony! I loved seeing the sun rise over Bay Lake.
I would prefer a Bay Lake view over the Contemporary parking lot view any day. It is a very relaxing view. :)
As I exited from seeing Mickey, I was happy to see Snow White in her garden with only a short wait
I love your MK morning. The character pictures are a lot of fun. And the short wait is huge!
I had a VQ for Tiana's Bayou Adventure. My verdict...I loved it!
We did Tiana in August and enjoyed it more than the old version.
I didn't want to head to the parks this evening so chose to go to Disney Springs instead.
The parks are very stressful. We have been going to Disney Springs at least once per trip. Earl of Sandwich is a great choice. :)
Watching the Halloween party fireworks from my balcony rounded out another perfect Disney day.
I love the party fireworks. Could you hear the music?

I love the party fireworks. Could you hear the music?
Yes, I could put the TV to a channel that was streaming the music which worked perfectly. It was like my own private viewing. :)

The characters are always a great time!

I find the evenings very busy on a party night and with Animal Kingdom closing at 6pm. It really doesn't give a lot of options.

I was happy to see Snow White in her garden with only a short wait

I have had some great meets with Snow White here too.

It was fresh and new, the animatronics were awesome and the music was great.

I enjoyed the new song so much I downloaded it.

Of course I needed a small snack to enjoy during the show and went for my beloved Pinapple Upside Down Cake with Dole Whip. It sure hit the spot even though it melted quickly.

I still need to try this.

Watching the Halloween party fireworks from my balcony rounded out another perfect Disney day.

Perfection!

Some day I'll stay there... just don't know when... or how!

Maybe so... but I know I'll miss the classic ride, even if I love the new one. (Which remains to be seen.)
I looked it up and saw that Earl of Sandwich is in Manitoba and BC! Now I am jealous! I want them to come to Ontario!
 At last, one thing we have that you don't!
I think that might be the only thing... but it's something!

Rent DVC points! It's often about the same price point as a moderate.

I think you'll love it.

I still have to drive a fair distance to get to any of the fancy stuff we have here.

Let's go do all the things!!

You know what that means, right? It's time for a 4 parks day! And what better place to start than at Tower of Terror!
IMG_6480.JPEG

Of course I had to stop for a photo too but forgot to do a number one sign for my first park.
IMG_6481.JPEG
I hit up Minnie and Mickey's Runaway Railroad next followed by a visit with Minnie and Mickey themselves at Red Carpet Dreams.
IMG_6486.JPEG

IMG_6487.JPEG

I had time now to catch the first showing of Frozen sing a long. This is one of my favourites and never fails to delight. The historians, belting out "Let it Go" and the snope falling make it a must do for me!
IMG_6482.JPEG

I was feeling peckish after the show so picked up my favourite carrot cake cookie and vanilla cream cold brew at the Trolley Car Cafe. I had planned to only nibble on the cookie but devoured it all. :)
IMG_6485.JPEG
After doing a little pin shopping /trading I hopped on the Skyliner to Riviera and filled up my mug at Primo Piatto. I hung out for a bit in the library and perused the gift shop. Then I strolled back to the Skyliner to head to Epcot!

Park number 2 by 11:45!

Plus a cute magic shot with Chip!

2024-08-21 - Epcot - Uk at epcot (1) (1).jpeg

I had heard of the Eyeore and Pooh meet at Christopher Robin's bedroom so headed that way next. It was about 1/2 hr wait but the cuteness was well worth it. They loved my Pooh and friends backpack and jumped up and down when I pointed them out on it.

IMG_6519.JPEG

After the meet I wandered through the UK shops and then headed to Canada in search of the maple popcorn. I can't understand why I had never tried this before!! It was SO good!IMG_6526.JPEG

4 parks part 2!

Of course I can't be in Epcot without going on Living with the Land!
IMG_6530.JPEG
I was considering Soarin' next but the stand by was too long (did I mention I was doing 4 parks without Multi pass?). So I passed on it in favour of wandering around Creation shop and grabbing lunch at Connections. Kids cheese pizza combo for the win!
IMG_6534.JPEG

Love the real plates and cutlery here! So much better for the environment.

After a ride through time on Spaceship Earth it was time to head off to Animal Kingdom! I exclusively used Disney transport this day and had no issues.

Park #3!

These park postcards are pretty cute too!

It was time to see my favourite duo in their dinosaur outfits!

IMG_6535.JPEG
I followed this up with the Nemo show. I absolutely love this show and try to see it at least every other trip.

4 parks part three!

Time for a safari! It had rained while I was at the Nemo show and it was still a little drizzly which made for a perfect late afternoon safari. I waited about 10 minutes and enjoyed very active animals out on the safari. it was perfect!

I couldn't have asked for a better afternoon. By now I was in need of a break and headed back to BLT to enjoy a little pool and hot tub time. Back in the room, I watched the sunset from my balcony with a glass of wine. No photographic evidence of dinner exists so I am going to bet I munched on maple popcorn!

IMG_6548.JPEG
It was time to enjoy Happily Ever After from my balcony.

Once HEA was over I headed downstairs for the quick walk over to MK. The park was open until midnight so I still had two hours to play.

People Mover was a must do!

IMG_6552.JPEG
Of course Haunted Mansion was on the list too.

I was ready for a Dole Whip now and enjoyed that before heading to a nighttime Jungle Cruise!

I have rented (once) from a friend, but... never from a rental store. Should. (If/when)
It's time for a 4 parks day!
:faint:
Don't know how you do it.
Of course I had to stop for a photo too but forgot to do a number one sign for my first park.
Fail!
I dunno.... maybe this whole day doesn't count, now... hmmmmmm...
You look pretty happy. :)
The historians, belting out "Let it Go" and the snope falling make it a must do for me!
::yes::
I had planned to only nibble on the cookie but devoured it all. :)
 Kinda like those, huh?
I hung out for a bit in the library
Library?!?!?
Remembered this time. :)
That is such a cute shot. :)
They loved my Pooh and friends backpack and jumped up and down when I pointed them out on it.
:goodvibes
headed to Canada in search of the maple popcorn. I can't understand why I had never tried this before!! It was SO good!
I need to try it again. I did once, but it wasn't very good. I think it was burned, maybe? Or the bottom of the barrel? I don't remember.
(did I mention I was doing 4 parks without Multi pass?).
:worship:
Love the real plates and cutlery here! So much better for the environment.
Afterwards, they wrap the dirty plates and cutlery individually in plastic bags and throw them in the ocean.
Your three needs a bit of clarification, here. Almost looks like a two. Maybe a 2.5.
Fun shot. :)
I like that!
You look pretty happy here too.

Oh, heck... You look pretty happy in all your photos.
I followed this up with the Nemo show. I absolutely love this show and try to see it at least every other trip.
Been a while. I usually run out of time to see it.

it was still a little drizzly which made for a perfect late afternoon safari.
I assume the (presumably) cooler weather made the animals more active.
Nice shot.
I have no idea why this thought (with a French accent) popped into my head: "Look at Zee butt."
Looks like she's trying to show you something in the distance.
headed back to BLT to enjoy a little pool and hot tub time.
Wait... you did 4 parks and pool and hot tub???? :worship:
No photographic evidence of dinner exists so I am going to bet I munched on maple popcorn!
Of course. It's part of a well rounded meal. Vegetable and fruit. (Corn... it's a veggie. and Maple syrup comes from trees, so pretty much a fruit, right?... Right?.... Right????)
It was time to enjoy Happily Ever After from my balcony.
Oh, how you must have suffered so, being there.
Change of outfit with your #4. :)
It must be done.

I heard a rumour that Disney was banning guests who don't take the obligatory foot shot on People Mover.
Of course Haunted Mansion was on the list too.
It has to!
Great shot!! :thumbsup2
I was ready for a Dole Whip now and enjoyed that before heading to a nighttime Jungle Cruise!
Win and win. :)
Here's the last photo of the night just before midnight. 4 parks day complete!

We love the Frozen Sing Along, too. The last time we were at the show we had the cutest baby in front of us. He was probably about ten months old. He was so much fun to watch when the snow started. And his parents were delighted by their son's amazement at the snowfall. It was so much fun to see his reactions. :)

I had heard of the Eyeore and Pooh meet at Christopher Robin's bedroom so headed that way next.
That meet in greet looks like so much fun. I'm surprised people can find its hidden entrance. :)

These park postcards are pretty cute too!
That is very cute.

I've heard that the animals love the rain. :)
