I was on the lp.com boards reading about my coming trip to DL and I came across a good topic. WHy do u still love DIsney? Most teens seem to think they are too "cool" for DIsney...I mean its for babies right? Thats so not true!!! SO I would like to know why you still love Disney That includes DL,DLP,TDL, and WDW also how you watch every DIsney movie and thats about all you watched this week(or is the last part only me?!?!...lol)
For me-where else can you go and get away from it all and feel like a little kid?? My friends always say stuff when I am reading a trip report like Disney is dumb, why do u like it? and I never wanna go! I mean I am not going to agrue with them...less people for me to fight off to get to "my" rides!! lol The only person I want to thank is my Mom...because without Disney I would be lost. One reason its very dear to my heart- When I went to WDW in June my bf of 6 months broke up with me 2 days b4 i went.(It took me until September for me to feel better and FINALLY get over it but thats a WHOLE other story) He was my 1st bf so I was heartbroken but I decided to forget him and all about until I get back and have a great time in Florida. It was the best thing I ever have done.
So its main reason is to go to reality..I consider Disney reality and the "real world" the break from it. Its great!!

All my friends kinda thought I was alittle "wack" when they found out I was a total Disney fanatic. I don't know what keeps me holding on, but there is something that is diffrent about Disney. I love the everything about Disney, from seeing "Mickey", to shopping in the Disney store. I gotta agree with you, you can't let go of Disney. :)

disney is the only place u can go be a total 'loser' and still have a ton of fun! when you're there u just have to have a ton of fun. when you turn a corner and see tigger u just have to run and take a pic w/ him. (Disney is THE happiest place on earth)

i love disney movies too (I luv Peter Pan)

;) ;) :D Disney is fun for me because I love rides (even if it is Dombo). You could say I'm a ride fanatic, plus it's good for a giggle or two. I don't care what my frends say. I like it and I am proud. :D ;) :)

Anyone who ever stops enjoying disney is a person that has major problems! I've been going since I was 5. I'm now 16 I've been 16 times and the day I stop loving Disney will be the day that I die! No matter what anyone says your never to old to ack like a child!

Remember to make every day a disney day! :)

For me it is not so much the mouse but the man. At one in the morning on the disney channel the best show in the world comes on. it's the Wonderful World of Disney. Every time i see Walt I can't help but cry. It is something very powerful. I guess you could say he is my hero. He created the happiest place on earth. And I can't see how some one could forsake that for being considered "cool" to their peers. In the long run what all of you classmates think will have nothing to do with what you become later in life so why should you be unhappy.

I think it's neat to see these replies from all over the country. The reasons I love Disney World is the mousekateering that happens there. Where can you travel back 100 million years, be shrunk to the size of an ant, be entertained and just relive the old classics?

"A Mousekateer is a cross between an Imagineer and a Mouse FUNatic."

A lot of my friends think that it's weird that I get so excited about one little cartoon mouse, but they just don't understand!! The minute you enter WDW the magic hits you and you feel just like a little kid again. I'm 16 and I still collect character autographs and get my picture taken with them! Also, I think that the best thing about WDW is the atmosphere. Yes, the rides are great too, but nothing can compare to the atmosphere of the 'world'. The people are so friendly, the scenery is immaculate and in my opinion it really is the happiest place on Earth.
However, some of my friends have also been to WDW and none of them are as fanatical about it as me. To be quite honest, they don't really seem bothered and never mention their trip at all! What is the matter with them!! Disney is my hobbie, and in my view, you can NEVER be too old to experience the magic-maybe that's why I love it so much.

I don't know if it is because I went to WDW for the first time recently as a teenager, but who can not love the adorable mouse! I mean all my friends think I am crazy because everything is Mickey! When I went I had to get all the things little kids get from the hat all the way to the balloon. The whole time before I went I watched every Disney movie we owned, borrowed all my grandmothers, and even rented some. I love the Magic of not only WDW, but the late night shows and to see how they work so hard to bring you the littlest detail to make everything so Magical. I don't care what other people think I will tell everyone who asks me I'M A DISNEY KID.

The reason I still love disney is because it totally makes you feel like a kid again- it's one of the best feelings in the world!! Also you can be like a total loser and no one cares- like sya you're waiting to get a picture with winnie the pooh- sure you might be 10 years older than all the other kids but you can see another person you're age waiting behind you!- no one is afraid to look stupid! and.. i've noticed a lot of their friends think its stupid to go to disney world. I'm 13 and been their 6 times- my friends all tease me about that but i know that they're just jealous. plus, we're all obbessed with the disney channel (don't get me wrong- we do have lives other that disney! :D )and that even helps us feel like kids again! so! i guess that's gonna answer you're question.. haha kinda long but that's ok- anything to prove disney is the best! :D :) <IMG WIDTH="15" HEIGHT="15" SRC="/infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif" alt="razz">  ;)

The people who think WDW is just for babies think of what other people think before thinking what they really would think if that makes any sense. i just do what i want and i am really popular at my school because of that. I love disney because i can feel like a kid again.

See you later.

I LOVE DISNEY! I totally agree with everything that has been said! My friend and her family took me with them on their WDW vacation when I was in grade seven. My best friend and I had a blast! Anywhere from obsorbing the atmosphere in the waiting lines for a ride to just walking down Main Street! The movies are so good also! There is just something about them that makes them so much better then just a regular cartoon! I don't watch cartoons much anymore, but if Mickey or Winnie the Pooh is on......LOOK OUT!!!!!
Alberta :D

In my original post I said how one of my friends is like I have never been and never plan on going. But she got the Disney Channel (since you have to pay for it anymore on Warner Cable) Well, now she is always telling me about how good the Original Movies are and stuff. I feel like the Disney Channel is the "World"'s magic at home so I think that if my friend went then I think she would enjoy it since she enjoys the movies.
Yah, Wonder World of Disney is a GREAT show!!!
OK,what about other people's opinions on the matter!!! I love reading this post!!

I always thought my friends would think I was weird or something for being a total Disney fanatic, but when I went to college I told them all, and they confessed that they all love Disney too (but not as much as me :D ).
Now we visit the Disney Store regularly on our trips out, and all buy eachother Disney presents for christmas and birthdays. We're even saving up to go to Disneyland PAris, but so we've got about £50 between us, so we might have to wait a few centuries :D .

I love WDW because it's so different from the rest of the world. It is as close to perfect as possible. Everything has such detail. The parks are much more than rides, they have atmosphere. And how can you compare something like Holiday Inn to Wilderness Lodge (or even All-Star for that matter!)? When I'm done with school I hope to visit WDW at least twice a year.

I can't really explain why I still collect Disney videos, but I like em!

Just randomly bringing a post from 3 years ago back to life for no reason at all.

I was brought up on Disney since I was little and still love going. I love the way you feel when walking down Mainstreet or around the World Showcase. Disney World is basically my second home-lol. Also the rides help it too. Even though I'm 16 I still love collecting the autographs like a little kid and eating in the castle. Where else can you find a place like Disney World?

This is an interesting thread- Thanks for bringing this back up!

Just like disneygrl16, I basically grew up on Disney. I've been going to WDW since I was about 5 (been there 7 times now, plus 1 trip to DL and 2 trips on DCL). I was always watching Disney movies as a kid, and I still like to watch them now. Now that I think about it, there are two main reasons that I love Diseny.

1. As other posters have said, it makes you feel like a kid again. Who cares if people make fun of you for still being excited about your next trip to WDW? It's the feeling you get that matters.

2. Disney helps you "forget" the "real world." Whether it's spending a week in one of the Disney resorts or just sitting at home watching a short Mickey Mouse cartoon, for a certain amount of time you can "escape" your problems and just be happy again. Remember, everything Disney always has a happy ending.

I LOVE DISNEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For me it's everything, but mainly the man behind the magic. When I Try to visualize a world without Walt Disney I just can't imagine a culture without his magic, whimsy, and optimism. His whimsy and optimism influenced his forty-three year career which spanned the development of the motion picture industry as a modern American art. During this time, Walt Disney established himself as an American original with his ideas and became a genuine part of Americana. Disney was a pioneer, innovator, and possessor of one of the most unique imaginations the world has ever known. Disney used his imagination to take the dreams of America and make them a reality. Even thirty odd years after his death, Disney continues to be a model for the entertainment industry. We continue to be influenced by his ideas in new creations in the film and theme park industry.as a true genius, and a genuine part of Americana.
When my mom drives through the welcome to Disney World sign, all my troubles melt away. Walt disney World is my sancturay from the real world where I can lose the tension of my life for at least alittle. It's the one place where I can act young again. That's why I continue to love Disney and always will!::MinnieMo ::MickeyMo princess: :D :earsgirl: :teeth:

When I Try to visualize a world without Walt Disney I just can't imagine a culture without his magic, whimsy, and optimism.

How true. Many don't realize it, but if Walt Disney never drew a mouse, the world would actually be different from what it is today. Not completely different, but entertainment wouldn't be were it is now.
