Why do you stay at a moderate room if you can rent DVC points?

Two reasons:
Kitchen and Laundry facilities!! Like the poster before me, I don't want there to be even the slightest possibility that I could do dishes, cook, or do laundry during vacation. My husband would think that would be great!! And he'd probably even do some of the work, but thats not vacation to me. I want to go out to eat and don't want to wait around until the washer finishes when I should be out the door and on my way to the parks

DH and I have rented points from DVC members 8 times and we have never had any problems. We ask for references on the members before we sign any contract or money is exchanged.

For us, it is more cost effective (and fun ) to stay at a value on Saturday night, DVC Sunday-Thursday and a deluxe Friday-Sunday. It's a lot of moving around, but we like it because we can stay at our favorite resorts more often.

As far as not having housekeeping every day, I actually prefer it. I'm not a fan of having strangers in my room, so it's nice to only have to pack everything up twice a week.

One of these days we're going to have to break down and buy into DVC ourselves. Until that day comes, I'll gladly rent the points from members.

Lack of flexibility.

I've rented 3 very short stays so wasn't concerned about losing too much money.

Next trip is more money. Owner was willing to change my reservations but it is not as easy as changing a hotel reservation. She had to use more of her points because i was moving to a different season.
Luckily the points weren't expiring before when i wanted to go!
That would have been a booger.
