Why do you cry while watching Wishes or Illuminations?

I've cried at all the MK's fireworks. I have pics of the 3 of us during MVMCP and my nose is bright red! (I looked like Rudolph!)

I always shed some tears during Illuminations. It is probably my favorite thing on earth to watch. The music, the fireworks, the globe, the countries, the people...
Illuminations actuallymakes me feel very close to God when I watch it. The start of His creation and comes full circle until today is just awesome for me to witness.

I have fond memories of watching it with DH and DD. They know I cry. And watching it with my parents and each one of my nieces and nephews too. And Dan Murphy. I have fond memories of watching Tapestry and Illuminations with him (2x I think). And I think Dan probably cried too. he's an ol' softy.

When I die I want that whole CD played at my funeral. I truly love the music and just hearing it takes me to Epcot and I can *see* it and feel the emotions.

I always cry during WDW vacation. Mostly happy tears. Sometimes it is because I don't want to leave, sometimes it is thanking Walt Disney for creating the parks for us, sometimes it is because some child I am watching is seeing Disney for the first time or with a special view. My heart is always open there...always ready for the magic. And, lucky me, I am never disappointed!

What is it about Disney's spectacular display of pyrotechnics that gets to us? Is it the music combined with the location and the moment that brings us to tears?

Try to put into words why it gets to you!

Spectromagic and Illuminations always makes me cry. It's the combo of the music and the lights and beautiful surroundings being in the place I love with the people I love and not a care in the world and knowing a week from then I'll be back home and that moment will just be a great memory for the rest of my life. That's why it makes me cry in a good way.

Anything set to music makes me cry - even commercials.. LOL

Being filled so full with joy that smiles and laughter just don't cut it. It's the happiest cry on earth!

Wow...I didn't know people did this. :confused3

There's plenty of us sentimental saps out there.

I tear up during Illuminations, but not during Wishes. Illuminations gets me emotional because it brings back wonderful memories of my wedding day. I'll never forget standing on the little bridge that leads to the Italy Isola beside my new husband watching Illuminations. We alternated between watching the show and looking down at our wedding guests to see their expressions. It's a memory I'll treasure forever, and seeing Illuminations brings it all flooding back.

Illuminations makes me tear up. I have fond memories of watching my son watch it for the first time when he was 3. I bought the CD and when we got home and were putting up the Christmas tree I put on the music. My baby was dancing around the living room to the music. Whenever I think of him "getting" the Disney magic it makes me sentimental.

Never actually made it to one of the shows, I was too busy tearing up walking down Main Street with the kids watching them just bliss out. I cried at the last trip to DLP too. I cried during Fantasmic! My DD was so excited, she was about to crawl out of her skin, seeing her that happy did me in. :guilty:

Illuminations-I first saw that show in 1999, and I was simply blown away by it. It reminds me of the potential that we have as people and allows me to forget for a moment how we so often squander that potential and live less fulfilling lives. For that few minutes, I can imagine that all the negative things on the outside don't really exist and the vision being portrayed is reality. That usually brings on the mistiness.

Wishes-the first time I saw that show, I was with my parents. My Dad had just come through a prostate cancer scare and I was just SO glad we were there, healthy and together. That can make you misty. When I saw it in June, it had been 5 months since I had a tumor removed from my abdomen that was NOT cancer, so more mistiness. It was also my first DVC visit, and I was so happy that I had been able to make that purchase work financially on my itty bitty salary and take my parents on vacation for the first time.
