Hey DM
I was just thinking about your brother's picture he sent you-- do you guys go on vacation together? I would imagine if you do how funny that trip report would be :lmao:
Enjoy your charges today!!
My brother and I did go to Disney World together way back in 1997. Rob & I stayed at POR and my parents, my brother and his then girlfriend stayed at the Vistana. Let me just say that my brother was not as much fun as his girlfriend. He is not into Disney like I am. He did enjoy trying out beers in Epcot at the Food & Wine Festival but, otherwise, he was a lump on the log. Go figure... Maybe he will be more fun now that he has a family of his own.

subscribing to this most adorable trip report!! Your kiddos are dang funny and gorgeous to boot!!

You are doing an EXCELLENT job trip reporting!!:thumbsup2
Thank you so much and

Monday, June 25...Animal Kingdom
Extra Magical Hours part 2

Hopes:
1. More PhotoPass pictures taken...:sad2:
2. A good DIS meet with Laura...
3. No blisters on my feet...today was my Crocs Athens day again...:worried:
4. A meeting with the Dream Team...

Wants:
1. A good breakfast at Donald’s Breakfastosaurus...:donald:
2. Ride Expedition Everest with Laura at park opening...:sad2:
3. Ride Dinosaur...:hyper:
4. Have a good rest at the resort in the afternoon...:laundy:
5. Return to Animal Kingdom in the evening for EMH...:paw:

All these people were just standing there blocking our way. Then I noticed that a PhotoPass CM was there but people were just watching. I mean, come on people, it’s not like you have never watched someone get a picture taken before. So, with all these duh-headed people standing there, I walked up to the CM and said, I’ve got a PhotoPass card, please take a bunch of picture of us. And she did. They didn’t turn out that wonderful but I still like them. My hair had completely “waved up” from the humidity and I never bothered to fix it to go back to the Animal Kingdom.
image32.jpg

I wish Alec would have smiled more...
image37.jpg

And then the CM told us to put up our paws and roar. I think Evan and I got into it the most. Oooh...doesn’t Alec and Brooke look “kary”? And what’s up with Rob? Does he think he’s too cool to put up his paws? Let me tell you, sometimes he is all paws ... but that’s another story...
image40.jpg

After our bunch of pictures we headed over to Tusker House to get a bite to eat. But it was closed. It was closed? It was closed. Okay. Plan B in effect ... which was walk around until we found something else.
PPtoEMH.jpg

The kids spotted misting showers on the other side of Tusker House so can you guess what they had to do next? I’m sure you guess that they had to get wet. Okay, after wetting themselves down, we all went over the bridge to Discovery Island and what we found the area to place EMH wristbands on so we went ahead and got them on. And proceeded to walk.
EMHtoFlame.jpg

We decided on Flame Tree. I’m glad we did because they really have wonderful outdoor seating here. We found a nice table by the water and Rob went back up to get our food while I stayed with the kids. I wasn’t too hungry but I wanted something. I saw that they had a fruit platter there so I told Rob to get me that. Looking over at Expedition Everest, I just had to take a photo...
P1000799.jpg

...and then another photo looking slightly more to the left.
P1000801.jpg

I looked up and saw the carvings and guess I just had to take a picture of that too!
P1000803.jpg

Now, the kids kept themselves amused whilst we waited for Rob. I can’t figure this song out but they were singing it over and over and over and over again. Hey, at least they had fun!

Rob came back with our food. I don’t know what he did with the receipts for that meal so I can’t remember what he had or the kids but I do know that I had my fruit platter.
P1000805.jpg

This was the best fruit platter ever. I loved it. The kids even helped me eat it. It came with a dipping yogurt but I didn’t bother with that. Also, because it was on our DDP, I forgot that I was supposed to get a side and dessert so Rob guessed what to get me. He got me fries for my side. Now, isn’t that odd? I want a healthy meal of a fruit platter and how about an order of fries with that? Needless to say I didn’t eat them but the kids shared them. He also got me a key lime pie which is my most favorite of all pies. But it was warm and didn’t taste good. So, guess who shared it once again....the kids!

It was starting to get a bit dusky out. But we still were ready for more. As we walked up and out of Flame Tree we saw that It’s Tough to be a Bug had only a 5 minute wait.
flametobug.jpg

We walked right on up and into it and had great seats in the middle! How perfect was that. The kids really liked it this time. Back in 2003 Evan got scared right off the bat and hid his head into my dad’s arms. But this time they all thought it was hilarious, especially the stink bug! I forgot about the very end when we had to make room for the maggots. I let out a big scream on that one. I even shocked myself!

So, where did we want to go next? My feet were really aching at this point but I was not going to ruin anyone’s fun. We just had to go at a slower pace. I thought it would be great to go on Kilimanjaro Safari. Rob thinks it is boring and pretty much I do too but I thought the kids would like it. So we hiked on over there...
bugtokili.jpg

However, I guess the heat got to my brain because I should have known that it was not open any longer. It was too dark. I wanted to smack myself in the head but I didn’t need something else hurting me. We were getting a bit tired and I knew it was another early day on Tuesday. So we started to head toward the exit when I glanced over and toward Camp Minnie-Mickey and remember that I had to see The Festival of the Lion King. A show was starting at 9 pm and it was about 8:50 pm. Another great timing...
kilitofolk.jpg

We got pretty good seats and waited for the show to begin. Let me say that this is the best show I’ve seen at Disney thus far. I had tears in my eyes when I heard this song...

And when I looked over and saw Brooke clapping away, I had to take this video. But a certain someone had to have a bit of fun with the video...

I sang to every single song whether anyone wanted me to or not! Remember people, don’t sit next to me unless you want to hear my beautiful singing....

After the show we decided to leave the Animal Kingdom. As we started our stroll back to the exit I thought I recognized a fellow DISer named tnmomof4. I called out “Sarah.” But she ignored me. But I wasn’t too sure if it was she or not. As we all walked behind her I kept looking at her and then had to see if there were 4 boys in front of her, which there were. So I came up beside her and said, “Sarah,” again and she looked at me and then knew who I was. We chatted for only a bit as we walked to the end of Camp Minnie-Mickey. They were going over to Expedition so we said our goodbyes for now. We had plans to meet up at MGM Studios on Wednesday to exchange Felicia.

We returned our stroller and headed on back to our resort.
folktoexit.jpg

Then we all got ready for bed and anxiously awaited our day tomorrow. We would be splitting up - Girls Day and Boys Day!

Next update...June 26...Blizzard Beach...Boys Day at Blizzard Beach

Sounds like AK EMH was a hit!:thumbsup2 The videos are great. We love Flame Tree but I didn't realize that they had a fruit plate. That is an awesome tip. There are days when DD3 will only eat fruit.:)

Glad you remembered to see FOTL. I just loved it, it is fabulous! Sounds like you guys had a nice evening at the AK.

Key lime pie is my favorite of all pies as well. You have great taste!

I love that you called those people "duh-headed people." I'm going to have to use that expression in the future!

Ohhhhh...can't wait for the girl's day!

And who the heck brings fries with the fruit plate???

/
I don't know why but AK does seem to attract spectators at the Photopass locations...we noticed that too!!

I loved the videos!! We missed Lion King this year and it is on of our FAVORITES...it was so hot that we left with intentions of going back later and that was the day that it stormed and everyone slept so long. We never made it back to AK :sad1: I guess we'll just have to see it next time...

I can't wait to hear about the girls/boys day!

It did turn out to be a very nice day all around. The break in the afternoon really helped us later and we tried to take the evening easy at the AK. It worked out very nicely and relaxed. I loved that fruit platter!!!

I'm glad I remembered it too. I wanted to see it so bad and it did not disappoint at all!

Great videos--I definetly see music futures for your kids, esp. the dance moves at Flame Tree :cool1:
I keep thinking the same thing. But kids certainly surprise you year to year, even day to day!

I usually get a key lime pie for my birthday pie - instead of cake! I love it that much. You like my "duh-headed" people expression? I've used that expression on a lot of people, even myself sometimes....

Ohhhhh...can't wait for the girl's day!

The girl's day was very nice but you'll just have to wait... Who brings fries with a fruit platter? That would be Rob! But I couldn't argue with him as he was the one getting everything and he had to make that decision in my absence. I was taking it easy with the kids....:thumbsup2

With those pathways so narrow, anyone stopping does not make for good traffic whatsoever. But I'm glad there was a PhotoPass person there! I'm sorry you missed Lion King. It truly was wonderful!

I loved it in 2000. We saw no shows on our recent trip.

Ah, to have a girl... ;) Lookin' forward to hearing about it!

I love your updates!

I hope there will be more videos to come. I really enjoy watching them. I couldn't see the one at the Lion King with Brooke clapping though. Not sure why.

Since it's the weekend can you pretty pretty please have another update tonight or tomorrow? :flower3:

This is so cute :goodvibes

Looking forward to the girs/boys too!
Thanks. Gotta wait until Monday for that update though! It's car shopping weekend.

I do love having my girl but I totally anticipate the teenage rebellion from her. I have to enjoy the time while I can...

Thank you. I just checked the link and it works. Maybe try again?

No update this weekend. Weekends are even busier for us as we have a lot to do. We need to go car shopping!!!

Loved the top you were wearing on your AK day - very THEME appropriate! :goodvibes

We skipped Lion King and Beauty and the Beast this year... two of my favorites, but that's because I ALSO sing along with every song! :rolleyes1
(you would think they'd offer me a JOB by now... )

Good luck with the car shopping! What type are you looking for?

ps: Dana & I LOVE Key Lime Pie, too! I have a great recipe if you are interested! ;)

Renée

I'll accept the fact that there's no update this weekend....ONLY if you purchase a car and post the picture to prove it! :lmao:

1) That fruit platter looked yummo!

2) You're not the only one who sings at the Lion King show! I also sing at.....Phillharmagic, Voyage of the Little Mermaid, and Beauty and the Beast!

I am weird in that I totally love car shopping. Buying, not so much... but I love to look! :rolleyes1

saw those special socks in an LL Bean catalog for Crocs flops socks (say that 3x fast). But I just can imagine wearing those at the end of June...

I just wear regular low cut socks...it is enough to keep my foot nice and dry causing no friction....:woohoo:

I had to get something. My Beach crocs sweated a blister on the top of my foot, near the edge of the shoe. ( I know, that is weird) and my regular socks caused a sweat rash on my ankle/lower calf. I got some low cut sock with Mickey pompoms on them, and they are sooooo cute. I never would have gotten them though if I wasn't desperate. It was $12 for 2 pairs.
But it worked:banana:

Thank you for noticing my giraffe/palm tree top. I thought it was very appropriate also! Nope, don't need a recipe. I don't cook! :rotfl2: I am happy with a frozen Edwards key lime pie. It is very very good! Or my mom makes me one for my birthday.

I'll accept the fact that there's no update this weekend....ONLY if you purchase a car and post the picture to prove it! :lmao:
We got a car. I'll post which kind....

1) That fruit platter looked yummo!

2) You're not the only one who sings at the Lion King show! I also sing at.....Phillharmagic, Voyage of the Little Mermaid, and Beauty and the Beast!
That platter was yummo totally! Oh, I sung at Philharmagic too but not VOLM or Beauty. I'll tell you why much later in my updates...

I am weird in that I totally love car shopping. Buying, not so much... but I love to look! :rolleyes1
I do not like car shopping. Hate it. But I found my next vehicle in a couple of years...

We went car shopping today. Rob has a Jeep Grand Cherokee that the lease is up at the beginning of September. We were debating on what to get next but just couldn't decide. We basically just need a car for him to go back and forth to work and sometimes for me to go grocery shopping. Therefore, we wanted a car that had excellent gas mileage. But we weren't sure on leasing or buying. Well, we ended up leasing a Dodge Caliber for 27 months. It gets 26 city and 30 highway. That's pretty good. Plus it's a cute car. We got a white one...
112_05fas_dodge_caliber_s.jpg

We pick up the car on Thursday. I'll take a picture of it and post it then.

In the Dodge Showroom they had a new Dodge Grand Caravan R/T that I fell in love with. Oh baby...this car had windows that came down on the side doors and swivel captains seats with a table that you can set up. Our 3 kids could play a game whilst on a road trip! Plus 2 DVD screens and GPS and so much much more. It listed at just over $31,000 which I didn't think was bad for everything you get in that car. Now, it's on my wish list as I do love the Grand Caravan I have now but I just want to run it into the ground before buying a new one. It's totally paid off and we want to save money for a nicer one next time.

Okay, end of my day rant and next update is not until Monday.

The boys are spending the night at my in-laws. Rob is buying a bottle of Pinot Grigio for us tonight. Okay, probably just me...:rolleyes1 I'll let you all use your imagination from there.
