Over on Lessa's TR, she showed me how to take a picture of one of those tiny plastic viewer pics. I did it but showed her that if you zoomed in, then they came out better. So, now I went and dug up a couple of old ones from the year that I met Rob. It was 1994 and me, my brother and my friend, Lisa-Lisa all went to Ocean City, Maryland, for vacation. We got these pics done...

First up, a close-up...I'm on the left.

...and now a full body view...I'm on the right.

If you look not so hard you will notice the lovely "shorts" tan lines on my legs. They looked so stupid. Oh well, to have my body thin like that again....:sad2:

Great Pics....Dang Girl you made me want to go Dig up some Old Pics of Me when I was Young...So I did & Here is One!!!

I only gained 19 pounds when I was pregnant with Dana... and had a C-section. You are not kidding about "messed up"! It's amazing what damage abdominal surgery does to you! :headache: (But she was worth it! :cutie: )
I gained more and more with each kid and never lost any of it. Three c-sections - ugh! But I really like the c-sections as they were so "convenient" for me, at least my 2nd and 3rd ones.

O.K. after searching and searching. I found the videos. You know you don't have them listed on your first page, you know how long ago a week was, you know it was a week and a half.

This might be alright on a report like mine where a week ago was the previous page, but yours is like a gazillion pages back.

Well anyway, found it. He's still pretty cute!! Too Funny!!
Sorry you had a hard time finding the videos. I didn't put links in for them because they really weren't part of the TR, but just fun. My brother is pretty cute. He looks a bit goofy in the videos but he's cute. He has shaved his head now though but he still works out almost every day and his muscles are awesome. He's getting married on Oct 13.

Great installment - I almost peed in my pants.... :rotfl2:
 Thanks, I think!

OMG, DM! That photo is priceless! I love it! Way to score some sympathy FP's! :thumbsup2
Thanks! I think I should print out that photo and frame it! :lmao:

Love the bikini pic-complete with tan lines.:thumbsup2
Thanks! :hippie:

This update will be pretty much all story and no pictures. There is lots to say and one part especially near the end of this update made a big impact on me for the night and on our day at Epcot on Thursday. So, read on...

busto18.jpg

We finally get back to our room and told the kids that we all needed to just rest for awhile in the room to calm down. That actually worked for just over an hour or so. Enough to do what we wanted.

Now, the plan was to return to MGM Studios for EMH. Deep down, I really did not want to go back. There were things we missed but I was tired. We had a little family pow-wow and nobody else wanted to go back either. Everyone wanted to go swimming at Ole Man Island. And since we never really had a day of rest we decided that was exactly what we were going to do. But first we needed to eat dinner.

Before we left for Riverside Mill, I noticed that there was a voicemail on my cell. It was from Sarah (tnmomof4) who said she was sorry she missed my call and to call her back so we could meet up to exchange Felicia. So I called her back and told her we would not be coming back to MGM but could we meet up at the Magic Kingdom on Friday. We were both planning on being there in the evening. That sounded fine with her. So, that was all set...or was it?

18toRM.jpg

We went over to the Riverside Mill for dinner. No pictures. I had a carved flank steak sandwich that was absolutely great! I wish I had gotten it earlier in the week. It was that good - and a CS meal!! The rest of family got the same old, same old. Don’t even need to go into that.

After our dinner we headed back to the room and changed into our bathing suits and made the walk to Ole Man Island. About halfway there I remembered that I forgot my camera. I was hoping Rob would say, “You go on ahead and I’ll run back and get it.” But what I got was the evil eye. So, no pictures again. Sorry. Seriously. I really am sorry and a bit ticked that Rob wouldn’t go back to get the camera. He knew my feet really hurt.

18topool.jpg

I found a couple of loungers by the kiddie pool and plopped my butt down. Brookie immediately went into the kiddie pool. Rob and the boys went into the main pool to swim. Brookie had a lot of fun. A slightly older girl befriended her and they had fun following each other around. The boys came back and forth from time to time. But after awhile I was getting a bit bored sitting there. So, the next time I saw Rob I told him we all should go into the main pool. And that's we did.

It was very refreshing. The boys really wanted to go down the slide so I made my way with Brookie to that end of the pool while Rob took the boys up to the slide. They were so cute coming down, except the fact that I had a screaming Brookie wanting to go down that slide now. Rob even came down the slide and he saw Brookie pleading to go down the slide. Rob said, “That’s the problem, I can’t take her down the slide.” But I told him to take her up and I would wait at the bottom and catch her when she came down.

So, off Rob, Brookie, Evan and Alec went to the top of the slide again. Down came Alec. Down came Evan. Rob gave me the signal that he was sending Brookie down. So I waited. And she came around the corner of the slide sideways. SPLASH! I caught her. I was wondering how she would react. She rubbed the water off her eyes and said, “I wanna do it again!” After Rob came down I told him and back up they went. The next time she came down the right way. It really was cute.

After a bit more swimming around Brookie was done. But the boys weren’t. I told Rob I’d take her back to the room and they could all stay for awhile more. But on the way back I needed to make a pit stop at the pool bar to get me a pina colada. Oh yeah, I was wanting me one of them. I froze my fingers all the way back to the room but it was so worth it.

poolto18.jpg

I no sooner walked into our room when my cell phone started ringing. I looked down at the caller ID and it was Renée, aka SingingMom. She said she and her family were walking through the turnstiles of MGM right now and asked where were we. I felt so bad. I told her we weren’t coming back to MGM. I could tell she was a bit disappointed about not getting to me up with me and my family. Renée told me her daughter, Dana, wanted to see Brookie really bad. That would have been so cute too! I think that was my biggest disappointment about not going back to MGM. Really! If we weren’t so pooped we would have been over there lickety-split. So, Renée and I chatted just a bit more and said our goodbyes. What a bummer!

And now to get on with some seriousness. This is the point that my day just sort of “dropped”.

My parents had driven down to Maryland to visit my Uncle Pete. I decided now was a good time to give them a call as Brookie was relaxing watching TV. My mom told me they were having a good time and where they went out to eat. After a couple of minutes she says, “Well, I have some family news to tell you. We spoke to your grandmother in California and she has been diagnosed with colon cancer.” That totally threw me for a loop. Here I am on vacation in the Happiest Place on Earth and she gives me that news. I haven’t seen my grandmother since 2001 when Alec was a baby. Now, I am feeling guilty that all the other vacations I have planned, not one of them was to California. I always reasoned that it was cheaper for us to go to Disney World or Cape Canaveral or Fort Myers - you get the picture - than it was to take the whole family out to California. I asked Mom if there were any plans for them to fly out there and she said no. My grandmother still had to meet with a cancer specialist first. They all were optimistic. Me, not so much. Nonetheless, I still had the rest of the evening and 2 more whole days of our Disney vacation. So, there was nothing I could do but have a good time and worry about it when we got home.

When the boys returned it was getting pretty late so we all washed up and got ready for bed. Tomorrow would be another long day at Epcot. No breaks! Are you buying that? That's the best cliffhanger I can do this time...

Next installment...June 28...Epcot...We're going back to Epcot

sounds like a nice relaxing time in the pool. too bad you did not meet up with the others.

We were disappointed not to get to meet the infamous DM and Gang... :sad1: :guilty: :sad1:
But, believe me, we TOTALLY understood! "Best laid plans" and all.... there are just some things that, although you plan them and they make sense at the time of your planning, just don't work out. I think when "Disney Exhaustion" sets in, the best remedy is to take a time out and just regroup. Being tired and having nasty blisters do not make for a happy vacation. :sad2:

That being said, I can NOT believe DM didn't hire a limo and roll in on a wheelchair for her blistered feet, just so that she could MEET ME!!!!! GEESH! :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao:

DM - this one's for you:

DM big  about your Grandma

Hope your feet get better and sometimes a good swim is what you all need at WDW!!!

DM I feel so sad for you. That is terrible news to get any time let alone on vacation.:sad1: I am in sort of the same situation with my grandparents. They live on the opposite coast and I have not seen them since I was in high school. They are in their 80's and not doing so well. I hope to save up some money and go out to the west coast with my dad to visit them some time in the next year.

SOunds like a nice relaxing evening. IT always good to have those to recharge the batteries.

I hope all is well with your grandma!

First I have to say YAAAAAY, I'm all caught up!! What a great time you guys had. I am loving your report.

What a bummer I had to catch up at a time like this. I'm so sorry. I will say prayers that Grandma is alright!

So, that was all set...or was it?

You do like to keep me guessing, don't ya?

I was hoping Rob would say, “You go on ahead and I’ll run back and get it.” But what I got was the evil eye.

Don't you just love it when they do that?

She rubbed the water off her eyes and said, “I wanna do it again!”

Aw. I'm so glad Brookie liked it!

But on the way back I needed to make a pit stop at the pool bar to get me a pina colada.

You know me...Ashlee and/or Jessica....loves those! :thumbsup2

That totally threw me for a loop. Here I am on vacation in the Happiest Place on Earth and she gives me that news.

AW! DM! I'm so sorry! We were at WDW two years ago, B.F.'s first time, and his mom called and said his great-grandma passed away. It does put a damper on this. It's kind of surreal because you're at WDW, and not at home where reality sets in.

Tomorrow would be another long day at Epcot. No breaks!

Hey, tomorrow on my T.R. is our long day at Epcot too!

Awww DM  about Grandma.

I know how you feel about not wanting to go back to the parks once you leave. I'm glad you guys had a great pool time though. :thumbsup2

How are ya gonna do Epcot all day with Blistery Sore feet? :scared:

DM, so sorry about your grandma! How is she doing? Bad news while at Disney is hard to take. Dh's grandma died while we were on our first disneyworld trip.

Just read your latest 2 updates--cool as always! Sad news about your grandmother--prayers sent for her.
I have a question about your photpass pics--did you add on the additions at home prior to buying the CD or what?

I am sorry about your grandmother and about finding out on vacation.
Sounds like you had the evening that your family needed.I bet Brookie was adorable on the slide-what a brave girl.:woohoo:

Oh DM, I'm so sorry to hear about your grandmother.

That must have been really hard on you and still must be difficult to deal with

The swimming hole and water slide sounds great--I'm heading over to all ears net to check out some pics. And the pina colada sound good too!:thumbsup2
I sometimes have a hard time remembering it's ok to not be in the parks every minute, but it's better for everyone to relax some.

Sorry to hear about your grandma too. I am very close to all of mine too (my Nana just turned 89 on Wednesday)

First, I want to thank all of you for your well wishes and hugs regarding my grandmother. Here is an update on her condition. She had started chemotherapy and radiation this summer. She had really started to complain that her butt was burning her very badly but continued. However, the burning had gotten so bad that she had to temporarily suspend the radiation. She is still taking the chemotherapy. She is exhausted and a bit depressed. This is an 83-year-old lady who is very active. She has always been on the go and I think that is bothering her that she just can't do that now.

Some of you may have heard that my family had plans to go out to California in 2009. This was brought on by my grandmother's condition. But, as a family of 5, we just can't afford to go next year. Plus, it would also be a vacation for us too.

Since she has taken this little turn for the worse, I am considering flying out sooner with my dad to see her. It would be just me and him. I have to coordinate this around Rob's vacation time so he can watch the kids. There are no definite plans right now and we are just waiting to see what happens.
